The Cats Of Verdun
My friend Yana has a soft spot for cats. Maybe that’s putting it a little lightly….. she’s obsessed with cats. It’s sweet but she’s straddling that fine line between animal lover and crazy old cat lady. Anyway, in her neighborhood of Verdun, the area is overrun with stray cats. Now that it’s getting cold out, she has built a little insulated home for some of the regular strays that she puts scraps of food out for. Let’s see… there’s “No Ears”, “Big Head” and “One Eye” to name a few. Her backyard has become some kind of weird cat leper colony. It’s sweet that she’s taking care of animals that other people have ignored or abandoned. That’s why we love Yana…. Even if she is a creepy cat lady.

About Me:
Tyson Bodnarchuk, an illustrator and former resident of Winnipeg made Montreal his home many years ago. He has been obsessed with drawing cute yet creepy monsters since he was able to pick up a pencil. His style is definitely his own, but his work has always been influenced by amazing people like Jim Henson, Maurice Sendak, Jack Kirby as well as campy science fiction and horror culture.
