of all the years of me drawing...this is the only piece I have ever done that truly captured how I was feeling and continue to feel at any given moment. It's so simple but it has so much depth and meaning. I can honestly say that I am very proud of this one.

I did this one years ago when I had only been working with pastels for a couple of months. At the time, I was full of myself...thinking I nailed it. But now that my skills are better and my eye and mind are so much more critical...I see all the mistakes I made...even without the photo at hand.

years ago, another artist challenged me by telling me that it was impossible to draw and shade with ink. I won our bet, but since then...I've upped the anty on my own passion. I've never been intimidated by ink. I treat it like drawing without an eraser...just trust yourself and make something (a mistake) into something that the average viewer won't be able to tell where the mistake was.
