Hello, friends! Stacy Buchanan here, and oh man, did I pick a great week to join the Inside Horror crew. In this week’s episode, Elric and Staci sat down with screenwriter Carl Gottlieb, the very charismatic mastermind behind JAWS I, II and III. His presence brought out a whole slew of great ‘I don’t go in the water anymore’ stories from the Inside Horror crew as well as the audience. Of course that’s also the first thing that Gottlieb hears when meeting fans — their stories of a new found fear of the water. He knew that while writing the movie, his work wouldn’t be done until viewers were afraid to take a shower. Brilliant!

Internet Marketing: Planting the Idea -- The digital marketing landscape of today is hard pressed to be effected by broadcast messaging. It’s now more important to come up with innovative, meaningful, and engaging online marketing campaigns — ones that leverage the deep attention and thought of potential customers/viewers. Even better? You plant the idea and let it happen. Yup, just like Inception. Take one single component of your entire campaign, and let it mature into the ultimate goal. Sounds hard, but it’s not.

[horrormovies.ca] Help Leslie Vernon Return: Behind the Mask Sequel Seeks Fan Funding -- It’s been 6 years since we were introduced to Leslie Vernon, the charming man who let us all tag along as he aspired to be immortalized as a psycho slasher in Behind the Mask. The movie took us by surprise with its clever deconstruction of horror. And despite its limited release and non-existent marketing, the articles, reviews and inclusions on every body’s ‘Top 10 Lists’ poured in. The positive press got the attention of the film’s director, and Leslie Vernon creator, Scott Glosserman.

[horrormovies.ca] Exclusive Adam Green Interview, Holliston -- We’re only a few weeks away from the premiere of FEARnet’s series Holliston. Taking place in, you guessed it, Holliston, Massachusetts, the show will follow Adam and Joe, two guys down on their luck and stuck in small town New England dealing with life, work, and women, all while chasing their dream of becoming horror movie filmmakers. I recently caught up with the series creator Adam Green, who’s now gearing up for the third installment of the Hatchet films, to talk about the upcoming series, his Massachusetts roots, and how the transition into writing a television series isn’t all that foreign to him.

[horrormovies.ca] Review: Some Guy Who Kills People -- You wouldn’t think that a movie with a title like Some Guy Who Kills People would be capable of anything beyond a campy dark comedy with bits and pieces of a good b-rated horror flick, but this film delivers beyond its stereotype with a whole slew of well developed characters and built-in drama surrounding some heavy handed struggles.

[horrormovies.ca] 10 More Horror Movies to Look for in 2012 -- The end of the year is approaching and even though we have already had our fair share of horror, there’s still more to come. Here’s a rundown of 10 more horror movies to be on the lookout for in 2012:

[horrormovies.ca] Editorial: I Did Comic-Con in 24-Hours -- My choice to attend Comic-Con was made just 2 days before the event started. And I’d only have 24-hours to do it all. I accepted the challenge, and was very curious as to just how much horror one can take in under such a short period of time. You’d be surprised, I know I was.

WGBHArts: Prometheus Sets Out to Save the Human Race; But Can it Save a Franchise? -- Prometheus is finally getting its U.S. release this Friday. Although in the beginning the filmmakers were deliberately vague about its connection to the Alien franchise in order to build additional audience participation, there’s no doubt that we’re about to engage with the fifth film of the beloved series.

WGBHArts: Why Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Didn't Work on Film -- Scathing reviews have been pouring in for the film adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. And unfortunately, mine is no different. I was crushed, especially since reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was the most fun I ever had in a book. The carefully thought out symbolism behind the axe swinging and honorable Abe Lincoln fighting a private civil war against vampires, within a public civil war for human rights, was eerily believable and consuming in written word.

WGBHArts: Is Another Spider-Man Necessary? -- Expected to be this summer’s biggest blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man promises new–and not just new actors. It’s promising a new world for Spidey fans to play in, a darker one where Peter Parker will be spending his time investigating the truth about his father and inventing artificial webs, all while barely casting a shadow of the geeky and goofy Parker of Spider-Man's past.

About Me:
Give me a piece of paper and a pen, and you have given me the world.

I’ve been writing since I was 6 years old. The first story I ever wrote was a letter to my father telling him that when I grew up, I wanted to own a 7-11, drive a pink Cadillac and marry a ninja. What my father took away from it was that I was a very creative little girl with a sense of humor, and that I had found my outlet early on in life.

Humor and creativity aside, what could a 6 year old possible have to say that is so important? Well, a lot. I continued to write as my main form of communication – a clear window into my mind, thoughts and soul. If I had a question, I’d write it down. If I experienced something new, I’d give it a back story. If I wanted to express my feelings, I’d push a pencil until they made...
