"Joker's Chic" I wanted harley to have a dark goth feel. She acts cute and sweet but deep down she has a dark side. She's the obsessed/adoring fan and girlfriend of the metal god (joker).

"Ivy's Poison Bar" I wanted to make it seem more eerie by making the scene at night time with the pot lights. I went for a more elegent feel when designing Ivy's outfit and her hair and make-up. I also added the mosiac tile to add more detail and I guess overall I wanted to evoke the sense of an evil greek goddess. Pencil crayon on 8.5x11

"Late Afternoon Sail" I wanted the viewer to feel relaxed after looking at the painting. Usually late afternoon is when most people's work day ends and they set sail for fun (no pun intended, ok maybe). Acrylic on 9x12

"All dressed up and no where to go" I wanted to evoke a cool feeling with mostly greens and blues and the small crack is to symbolize a door opened just a crack. The main subject was forgotten but not completely, I wanted to add a bit of warmth with the red shoes and brown parts of the coat and gloves. Just to show a balance of cool and warm colors, representing whether they (the subject) should be taken out or not. The warm colors are a glimer of hope that the subjects might be taken out. "A for Adversity" For the background I wanted a clay-like muddy neutral colour. Because she's an African woman I wanted the background to represent African ancestry or roots and a less pretty and a more poverty stricken side of African culture. For the subject I used some bronze-like colours to make a more glamorous and beautiful effect. This way the subject stands out against the background. The subject over powers the background which I wanted to symbolize African people triumphing over adversity. Acrylic on 9x12

I call this "Midnight Snack" because I wanted the main focus to be on the fruit so for the bowl and background I used neutral colors. I used some 'dirty' colors by adding tones of grey and black to the kiwi and strawberries to show realism and flaws of the fruit. Otherwise the viewer might mistake the fruit to be plastic and not real. The background is black to symbolize night time and the light source is from a kitchen light. I wanted to give the sense of a midnight snack of over-ripened long over due fruit. Acrylic on 9x12
