OOAK Sterling Silver NEW BEGINNINGS necklace/pin/pendant with Peacock Obsidian, Amethyst, Moonstone, Pauo Shell I think this is one of the most ebullient works I have ever done. In the midst of one of my most challenging times I decided to create something that shouted out loud that I choose LIFE! At that point I had had this large piece of Obsidian for about 3 years, always wanting to know about it, what to do with it, it was soooo beautiful with the dark background and the rose, teal and purple interior coloring around the 'eye' it staggered my imagination to the point of overwhelm, so I did nothing with it except to admire it. When the rest of my life became overwhelmed, I held it & finally just let it flow into me and what you see is the result. The stone was a metaphor of what life often appears to be, dark and somber, but when the light shines on it, the inner colors shine forth from the center...:-)

'Chariot Horses of the Goddess Athena'; hand carved limestone, bronze & limestone base 14 1/4"s W X 9 1/4 "s H X 1"s D, Base , 8"s W X 16 "s Long. Total weight 16lbs 10.8 ozs This was another extremely fun project for me as I have wanted badly to make these Grecian Horses since I was in high school, although at that time I was not able to complete the mosaic I was attempting....I just couldn't draw them out to my satisfaction. When I saw this piece of limestone, I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it and so it came to be. I had been instructed that the purpose of doing a 'bas' relief carving is to achieve the illusion of a 3D subject on as flat a surface as possible...I just can't stop carving... so I have a tendency to do what I refer to as 'DEEP' bas relief...:-)

About Me:
I am a 3D artist in multiple mediums; jeweler, sculptor in wax, bronze, stone and wood. Anything else creative that I can learn... I do. I have been an 3D artist my entire life.

In 1983, I started my own business for custom jewelry. I work in silver and gold, using precious and semi-precious stones and have an affinity for the energies of the stones and metals I work with. Although I had been sculpting in minature for jewlery for over 25 years, I never knew the incredible thrill it would be to work big!

In 2003 I went back to school at Mesa State College for Fine Arts formal training in other mediums and totally fell in love with sculpting in large forms and creating in bronze, stone, wood and ceramics. I usually work direct with material, especially stone, although I do make...
