Poster design for the documentary Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State. I chose to do the poster in black and white to reflect the historical value and coldness of this event. The photo I chose is meant to make viewers feel they themselves are on one of the trains entering the camp. One of the most striking things about this piece is how the edges of the image are burning away to "reveal" the numbers tattooed on the prisoners. This is meant to represent the victims of the Auschwitz camp.

Button design for the La Crosse Oktoberfest. Hand-drawn, then traced in Illustrator. The theme was Gemutlichkeit, Your Friends Are Here! I thought that including the Fest building would be a good fit for the festival itself, and in the background I added Grandad's Bluff, a landmark of La Crosse, WI. The colors emphasize the fall leaves, and make this design "pop."

The typography symbolizes the creativity of the graduates, while for formal layout plays on the professionalism. The layout is easy to read, allowing viewers to comprehend information quickly. The contrasting colors give it a "pop" catching passer-by's attention.
