Nightveil finally sleeps, and I wanted to show a visual descent into the unconscious mind. My father left abstract ink blotter designs for me almost every day when I was growing up. It is because of those designs I wanted to draw, and I infused those ink blotter designs into the art of this page, and showed it to him before he passed away last year. It made him happy.

Nightveil was still asleep. On page 3 I used the concept of German expressionism used in silent movies of the 1920s-30s to give the room forced perspective to make panel 2 uncomfortable so you almost twist looking at it.

On page 2 Nightveil is caught in a cyclic dream, and cannot tell if she has actually woken up.

I still love the motion lines of early comics, and I am trying to merge the old influences with the new darker more illustrative in nature of comics. This a Nightveil story in Femforce 123.

I used to work in the videogame field doing character designs for anything they gave me. This character was done in pencil. Because I do highly detailed art some of my comic book work was shot strait from the pencils.

This piece was going to be a story I was going to do with Roy Thomas who I worked for supplying illustrations on his magazine Alter Ego. It is an example of some of my sci-fi art of a computer world this was completely mechanized, with a population of robots.

Here is an example of my horror art with a Zombie attack published in Femforce 153, done in pen and ink.

On this page, I experimented with overlapping positives and negatives, while balancing the blacks at the top and bottom. I also have a passion for creating monsters, hence the nightmare creature. Nightveil is running for her life from a dream in Femforce 151. Again these were done with crow quill, and rapidograph.

amazing depth

Thank you Kalonji, for your accurate discernment on my graphic intentions. I created a circular design to draw the eye into the center of the page to invoke a subjective psychological claustrophic effect. No matter how fast she ran, Nightveil was being drawn, even graphically, toward the center, with no escape from the thing she feared.

I emulated an etching style which I studied at the Maine College of Art in Portland Maine, utilizing a crow quill to determine the thickness of the etching lines the rest I did with radiograph. This was done for Femforce 153, and this particular page was very time intensive but I was pleased with the effect. I had another artist Kat who aptly said it was similar to an evil dollar bill. I did it because of my love for illustration, and was trying to merge that with a comic book format.
