Wow thank you so much for the praise. Water color is a medium I find intimidating because, while you can sometimes have a tight control of it, I want to learn how to let the colors flow on their own and look good. I prefer the look of water color that is flowy and unrestrained, if that makes sense, so I don't want to have to use the thicker colors/wet on dry techniques etc since they look too tight.

I totally get that and I felt the same intimidation as my main medium was oil for over 20 yrs then into acrylics again which I love for the layering and speed of drying. Oil though is perfect for portraiture and like effects. I did a couple of water colors a few years back....pencil outline all ( and my passion is muraling )so I found it kind of frustrating...Late last year I pulled them out again and thought I shall have another go and this time....I didn't let it control me and I painted a mountain parrot and thought....that isn't too mad..lol!! Watched a guy paint watercolor who was a master and that was where I started to understand the magic and I did some practice following his teachings. He is regarded as one of the best in the world.........and amazing what one learns from watching a master at work. I now always emerse and wet my paper an hr before using as he is a master of 45 yrs ...Had another go a few months later and did about a dozen and I couldn';t get over how beautiful they are to use and I forgot the fules of all the lines, but also understanding as you will from a bit of practice, that they are super fast, super beautiful and I wish I had more time to get into them too....Can;t wait to see how you go..Have a look for a link to this guy...and you watch what he does in a very short time....in order to understand some principles then you can build on that. Got it and got sidetracked too and nearly forgot what I went to do lol....I paint quickly and this master definitely inspired me. The whole show is great and I love it. Watercolor master link..http://www.colourinyourlife.com.au/tv-show/item/107-joseph-zbukvic and let me know what you think ok:))
thanks for the kudo too as ever appreciated

his stuff is beautiful. I find myself learning a lot by watching what others do, its very cool that technology allows us to have all this information at our fingertips readily available. I love it.

I loved how he does his own little photoshop on the photo.............and his control of paint is awesome, and so thankful for the technology to view all of this, but the time is a slogger..lol

Well as they say, you could learn for a lifetime and still only have touched nothing of the worlds wealth in knowledge. But we can at least put to use what we can learn, and enjoy it as we go along!

That is the one truth that I do know:)) Hope it all helps you anyway and let me know how you go ok:))

I also really like this. It wes a lot of fun to draw, and the armor I think came out nicely. I do also like her expression.

About Me:
Hello! I am a professional artist looking to advance my career in the drawing field.Currently, my choice medium is Sai, which is digital. I used to be heavy with traditional pen and paper, but I fear I may be growing out of it.

I learned how to draw using anime heavily as a reference in highschool, and have since been attempting to branch out my style to be more realistic, or semi-realistic. I want to learn how to use watercolor as a medium, and I want to strengthen my ability in Photoshop and Sai.

On the side, I love taking photos, but it is more of a simple hobby for me at the moment. =)

If you are interested in my art, please feel free to contact me.
