Another hand drawn pen and ink rendering that I am presently using as a business card. This cabin was in a Parade of Homes event in Idaho Falls one of the years that I was doing all of their renderings. The building didn't yet exist and I had to draw the rendering from a blueprint, which I can also do.

Hand drawn pen and ink with watercolor renderings is what I have been doing for almost 30 years, I started using a computer 15 years ago but am still doing them by hand, using a Wacom drawing board and stylus. I usually work from photos that I take of the building that I am drawing but can also render from a blueprint.

Whichever way you work, they are all beautiful...Started on computer and using programs about the same time....Some I continued with and some I didn't and I wish I had. Painter was one of my first love affairs along with Bryce and Poser....Your Illustraitons are great!!

You are too kind........and from your picture.......VERY nice....... Like you I worked with Painter way back when it was made by Fractal Design, long before there were millions of colors available on one pallet. I will have to check out some of your work........thanx again Em Gee......!

Large commercial buildings can be drawn as easily as a small home with Sketchup, a free 3-D modeling program from Google, then imported into Corel Painter, where I add the sky, realistic shadows and other human touches that give the picture life.

Another rendering that starts as a Sketchup model, using textures from within the program and trees and bushes that I have built and saved, then I import one of the scenes from the model program into Painter where I give it the human, artistic touches needed to make it look more real.
