this form of painting is called Peinture a L'Essence, which mean Painting with Spirits. No this does not mean I have to be drinking while painting it, it means that I use oil paint, dry it out with turpenoid and then paint. The result is a dry chalky looking painting (like pastels) it is also done on cardboard.

My photos are so blurry. I'm seeing that now---I need to re-do them. Thanks James, for pointing out the ones you like. I was wondering what specifics caught your eye. The others are pastels, except the bird is water color.

About Me:
I have a BS in elementary and Early Childhood Education. I taught for several years, but I am currently a stay at home mom. I am following my dream to be an illustrator of children's books and I am getting my MFA in illustration at the Academy of Art University.
I am traditional artist that loves using pastels and charcoal as a medium. I am continuing to learn digital artistry and can produce finished, hand drawn digital work. I excel in drawing faces and bodies as well as clothes. I can produce well drawn, real life replicas of your photo, or from imagination.
