Set of bowls for URIHO, 2011
The clay used in the pottery workshop at Uriho is quite porose so they don’t produce things that will be used for food on a regualr basis.
However they do produce decorative bowls and plates that can be used for dry food.
The decision was to design a set of bowls applying the same principals as were applied to the lamps.

URIHO Workshop
Since the pieces were hand thrown this fact was emphasized by having the rim
bent in (which wouldn’t be the case if the pieces were cast).
The rim is emphasized with a sharp angle to make a clear guidline for the person dipping the pieces in the glaze.
The idea was to affirm the clay as a material, its texture color and throwing technique, a necessery part of the product.
