Hi David,

Do you know the specs for the interior art. Size specs most importantly. There would need be to be a little extra room for the images that you'd like to reuse for the front and back cover. Not exactly sure what "1 stkkpage" means. But that's all good. If you want the same level of full color illustration as "The Ship's Cat" it would be $250 per page of art. Specifically, if it's a double page spread it would be $250 for the left side art and $250 for the right side of the same image. If the art is simplified the price could be less. When you wrote "not as detailed" did you mean a more open colorful simpler style? The art from "The Cat's Ship" is great, however is very detailed. Also, I was wondering if you wanted that style mimicked? I'm not permitted legally to copy another illustrator's style. Sorry, I just have to make that clear.

I could get 12 images done in three about weeks, give or take, that's depending on the number of revisions that may be needed. With the rate of $250 a page, that includes 3 minor revisions for each page. Those revisions can't be saved for one particular page that may need a ton more based on your editorial authority. Let's say for the sake of this correspondence, if only three out of 12 pages need no revisions and there are two pages specifically that need more than 3 each then I'm ok with that. That being said, once the revisions for those two particular pages reaches 8 revisions each, there would have to be revision rates applied. This is a clause that's needed as in the past I've experienced clients/ authors who wanted to make so many changes that my end of the work put me into a deficit and was no longer a pleasurable experience.
The rates for revisions past three per page of art are $125 for an additional three minor revisions. $150 per two major revisions. $200 for one large revision per image that encompasses more then 45% of the colored art.

Revisions can also be used for the loose layout stages of the art. But then once using all three per image the rates for revisions would be added if you wanted to proceed or accept the art as is.

All this being said, I am flexible and reasonable on most things and very easy to work with if we find things are working smoothly. My goal would be for you to get the illustrations that best convey your vision while I'm compensated and treated as fairly and respectfully as I will you and as well as we both deserve to be.

I know this is a lot to take in, however I like to be thorough and clear about the work I do as I give it everything to make it as good as can be based on my skillset.
