I went from being at a historically black college to being the only black individual in my class. This was a very enlightening situation for me and I was all too excited to learn and loved the idea of being set apart from others. I finally graduated in January of 2003, earning a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. Needless to say through all of the blood sweat and tears that I endured, I was unable to ever start a career in criminal justice! After several years of dead end jobs, I finally landed at The University of Phoenix where I thrived at being an Enrollment Counselor. During my career there, I gave birth to two beautiful little boys and finished a long awaited Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA); that was the best perk of working for the university. Finally after two long years the university and I parted ways. I am now waiting to see what’s next around the corner in this great opportunity called life!
