I enjoy writing obnoxious satire with frail attempts at comedy. I showcase my attributes in a cesspool of unfettered hefty doses of innuendo and grandiose claims of illustrious funniness. My given name was "Funny" but I changed it so a not to preclude that I am actually funny. Give me a topic and allow me to make a futile attempt to humor myself. The only thing more important than making others laugh is making me laugh.

Hello, My name is Jonathan Schooler. I'd love to make some art for you. I'm an avid reader who grew up with science fiction and fantasy. These days I have a particular fondness for James Joyce, William Faulkner, Saul Bellow, Cormac McCarthy, Flannery O'Connor, Walker Percy, Ken Kesey, Wilfred Owen, Arthur Rimbaud, Lord Dunsany, H.P. Lovecraft, Yevgeny Zamyatin, Philip K. Dick, and Olaf Stapledon, as well as a deep-seated interest in mythology of which I owe to Joseph Campbell. I would absolutely love to work on bookcovers or illustrations to go along with narratives. If I’m hired, I promise you that my passion for the job will rival that of Alveric’s for Lirazel, Tom Sawyer’s for mischief, Buck’s for the wild, or even Sirius's for Plaxy. Many thanks and the gladhands of Durga ;) Jon

In a techno-dense industry, the 'art' of design is often forgotten somewhere between the pixels and software. I believe that the future of design and animation lies in 'positive regression' - a dedicated journey back to the basics. Before a quality animator opens his laptop, he pulls out his pencil. Top-class animation depends on the designer's ability to sketch - to draw a personality-rich model as a starting point. From my perspective, an animator is a painter and a storyteller. Technology, often seen as synonymous with electronic design, it is only the last step in the creative animation process. Technology can never replace imagination as the stimulus for the big idea. It may streamline the process but, from a my perspective, the truly artistic designer remains indispensable.
