I am a graduate of Biola University with a degree in Biology. I have also studied at Biola in the Master's Program in Christan Apologetics. As such I am greatly interested in writing about medicine, theology, philosophy, and how they relate to the human condition. I am working on a novel of my own, but welcome projects both fiction and non which will allow me to write thoughtfully and creatively. Vocally, I am a baritone/bass and have been active in community theater. I would relish the opportunity to use my strong speaking voice in either live or recorded performances. I have also done extensive data entry and word processing in various capacities. Efficient completion of such projects will enable me to round out a successful freelance income.

I'm currently a full-time college student with a part-time job, but I'm looking for extra work I can do without it getting in the way of my studies and my current job. Like most college students, I'm in desperate need of some extra money and the job market in my area is lacking in available part-time jobs for students. While I've never professionally worked as an editor or proofreader, I have quite a bit of experience with editing essays my friends have written. I'm the one everyone goes to when they need help with their writing. I try my best to fix sections that are incorrect or sound unprofessional without taking out the original author's voice, and it must work because my friends always love what I do for their essays.

What is a photographer? Is it simply pointing a camera in the right direction and hoping? Or is photography conveying a sense of time and place those that were not present through your art? Personally, I am betting on the latter. I am a native Montanan, who has spent a lifetime as an outdoors and wildlife enthusiast. I earned a degree in biology with an emphasis on habitat relations. During my studies, I had the great fortune to research and compose a thesis that explored the effects of slope aspect on communities in southwestern Montana and, more specifically, the ways that Clark’s Nutcrackers use their habitat. I have worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a botanist, bird biologist, and hydrology technician. Through my photography, I attempt to bring my experience of the world to you.

For example, the image of the house often reflects the institution of family. The structure of the narrative itself tends to reflect linear time. I explore, however, the breaks in this structure: the images of dark space, fragmented space, dissolutions of form. I show how the modern and postmodern are on the continuum of realism. I look at writings about architecture, such as those of Anthony Vidler, and literary criticism, as well as scientific theories of chaos. The first half of my dissertation explores realism to postmodernism and the second half particular spaces: the labyrinth, the eye, and the seasons, where I discuss the intersection of space and time in poetic language. Each chapter discusses a different author, starting with the modernist Natalia Ginzburg. I explore the prose of Natalia Ginzburg, Christa Wolf, Barbara Neuwirth, and the poetry of Paul Celan, Andrea Zanzotto, and Friederike Mayroeeker.
