All of my life I have wanted to write. Sometimes I think I'd like to write a book about my life, but usually I just want to write a "my point of view" column, or articles, about the relationship between men and women. Unfortunately life, and paying the bills, has gotten in the way. Now, I have some time on my hands and I’m looking for suggestions on how to get started - writing articles or a newspaper column.

I am a writer! I hold an M.F.A in creative writing from the University of Alaska and a B.A. in English with a minor in philosophy from the University of Michigan. By profession, I am a senior IT business systems analyst at a Fortune 500 power utility company. Since 1990, my job has been working with senior management to research technical trends, make recommendations for enterprise IT strategy, document system technical details and write proposals for government grants. For the past fifteen years I have used my formal education to carve out a career in the corporate information technology world as a professional communicator, technical writer and enterprise IT system strategist. My success in this area comes not from being technical, but rather from being able to convert the technical into understandable communications for both the IT and business worlds. I am an educator! I teach research writing, technical writing, business and professional writing, and creative writing courses for the University of Phoenix and Ashford University. I am a project manager! It’s not all about the writing. Being able to manage writing projects is as important as delivering the finished product. PMP Certified, I have been formally trained to manage projects, and I bring this discipline to writing projects. Driving an understanding of project objectives, requirements and formally reporting on project progress are services I provide with every writing project.

Hello there! I am an Auckland-based freelance designer and illustrator, with diplomas in graphic design and film-making from Yoobee School of Design. I create a variety of print and digital content for my clients (including character designs, comic strips, posters, logos, presentation clip art, packaging designs and app icons), developing strong research, concept design and pre-press skills in the process. I am experienced with the Adobe Creative Suite on both PC and Mac, and since 2014 I have moved into creating motion graphics and 2D animation using Adobe AfterEffects, Premiere and Audition. I have a firm grasp on the importance of following a brief (but also thinking laterally); coming up with creative ideas; working within a team as well as on my own; planning things out while remaining sufficiently flexible; and paying attention to the nitty-gritty details of a project.... without getting lost in them. In many cases, this has involved not backing down until a particularly frustrating design challenge has been overcome - which, of course, is the fun part! I love coming up with and developing ideas, and finding creative ways to make a design that little bit different - anything that fires my imagination, I’m all over it....
