I am mainly a watercolor portrait artist, painting people and animals on a commission basis. (Though I am now also offering murals for client's homes and offices, which I paint in acrylic.) I received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree (class of '92) from Maine College of Art in Photography. I strive to capture each subject's unique qualities, that twinkle in the eye...that subtle grin. My goal is to paint a true rendering of my subjects while evoking an emotional response from the viewer. I work in both watercolor and gouache(opaque watercolor), using a client provided 4x6 photograph (or compilation of photographs). I am also willing to do photo sittings for an additional fee. I also still have a love of photography and occasionally do work that I find inspiring. You can visit my portfolio here: http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/susan-gauthier.html
