“Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about people.” – often attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt I like working with companies that are all about ideas – ideas that make life better, happier, and healthier. Ideas that were born from careful thinking and daring execution. Ideas that I can help shine more than they already do. I am a freelance writer whose experience includes nonfiction, historical writing, ghostwriting about subjects such as chiropractic, and blog writing. This work required extensive research and the discretion to edit that research into its essence. I am also a graphic artist with years of experience – mostly in direct mail advertising, newspaper display ads, and medical education materials. Most of my work has been in print, but I have done web graphics as well. I have the Adobe Creative Suite in my home office, which includes InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I am also experienced in Quark Xpress and CorelDraw, and have worked in both PC and Mac formats. My point of view of commercial graphic art is that it must provide aesthetic enjoyment along with practical function. The visual joy opens the mind to the textual message. Colors, pictures, typefaces all have their roles to play. I would like to offer my services as an independent contractor/freelancer, if needed. I would prefer to work in my home office and receive communication by e-mail or the phone. My rates will be reasonable. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm a payroll goddess by day and a writer by night. I love to read, cook and create art. Though the payroll gig pays the bills, writing brings out my passion. I have over 30 years of payroll experience that includes system design and configuration, testing and analysis along with all the picky deadlines and details payroll requires. I've worked in a major market radio station as a copywriter, but it didn't meet my economic needs, hence the return to the payroll gig.
