I am a freelance Illustrator and Street Artist who goes by the art name of SPZero76. ‘SP Zero76’ is a versatile freelance illustrator and Street artist based in Bristol. Originally from South Yorkshire I moved to Bristol in 1996 where I received my degree in Illustration at the University of the West of England. I have been working steadily as a freelancer for a number of years. Most recently I have worked alongside Mambo and Free Spirit, creating wall art in their stores. I have regular work creating signs, canvases and murals for bars, clubs, hairdressers and shops around the country, including promotional work with Red Bull and Soulful Creative. I have a varied portfolio, which includes album covers, flyers, computer game art, children’s trading cards and t-shirt designs for GoGo Dojo, Dirty Old Town, SP:UK, Bakers Dozen NYC and Treacle Clothing. This past year has seen SPZero76 producing live art at festivals and club nights. I was also part of the winning Secret Wars team at Upfest 2011, Europe’s largest street art festival, alongside Squirl and Loch Ness. Over the past year SPZero76 has had successful exhibitions at the Upfest Gallery and Weapon of Choice Gallery and I have been involved in The Wow! Gorilla project for Bristol Zoo’s 175th Anniversary, the Swans of Wells and The Kalis Alliance Hello My Name Is book project as well as creating the very popular Collaberation Nation project which features almost a hundred artists. This course of instruction was purely practical and while completing this course also accomplished a City and Guilds 201 Basic Engineering Competence Course. This area of study was both practical and examination based. Both accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute. While undertaking these courses, started a technician course at Sheffield College entitled BTEC National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering. Giving a fundamental knowledge of how every system worked in an Automobile. This was a technician qualification. Achieving 7 Passes 7 Credits and 8 Distinctions. After completion undertook evening classes titled Electrical Auxiliaries and another entitled Batteries and Charging, both accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute The second NVQ undertaken was in Information Technology. Attaining this certification in 1995 this was purely DOS based, the units covered included transmitting messages by electronic mail, editing documents, entering numerical information into pre-prepared document, entering text using word processing facilities, inputting data into a database for later analysis, archiving/deleting files, producing printed display materials from given information, completing standard documents, interrogate existing databases, merging documents, backing up data, use facsimile equipment to transmit documents. This course was administered by the RSA. The Bachelors degree area of study was Integrated Engineering with Automotive Studies achieved at Sheffield Hallam University. This was a three year full time degree which preparing for research and development work in the automobile industry. Acquiring knowledge of the automotive industry and the engineering of vehicles and their systems and technology in modern automotive design.
