Turning great ideas into great writing I have loved words since my parents introduced me to the game of Scrabble before I had started school. They were avid players and Scrabble was our family obsession. Now I write for a living, truly a word-nerd’s dream! I am based in Canberra, Australia’s federal capital, where I live with my wife Therese and children, Scarlett and Joseph, but I serve the world of writers. Writing experience Writing has been at the centre of my professional life as a teacher, lawyer and executive level public servant for the past 35 years. In that time, I have written every conceivable professional document across those three fields; school reports, curricula, legal correspondence, court documents, legislation, explanatory memoranda, government briefs and submissions and corporate reports, to name a few. These all sound pretty tedious but my experience has enabled me to become an editor and writer who can meet my audience on their ground and turn their great ideas into great writing. Qualifications I hold academic qualifications in arts/humanities, education and law. Each of these areas require the capacity to express ideas fluently and concisely without losing nuance and meaning. Qualified editor and proofreader I am a qualified editor and proofreader, comfortable with most commonly used office applications and referencing systems, including APA, Harvard, Chicago, Turabian, MLA and the Style Guide. Clearspeak Communication In 2018 I also started by own editing and proofreading service, Clearspeak Communication. The idea for Clearspeak was born nearly 30 years ago out of my love of books, reading and words. I was a teacher at the time and loved nothing more than reading my students' assignments, essays and stories. I found beauty and complexity in their thoughts and words. Marking work was not a matter of correction but trying to help each student better express their ideas without emasculating their voice. Time and circumstances intervened but the notion of a service to help people with their writing was never far below the surface of my thinking. So, I have finally decided to give Clearspeak its voice to help people improve their written documents, whether academic papers, school essays, corporate reports or job applications. My extensive experience as a writer, editor and proofreader enables me to engage with a broad range of writing projects and improve the final product so that it speaks in the writer’s best voice.

This property of energy saving is achieved by applying coating on one side of float glass during float glass sputtering process. This coating is made up of metal oxide (tin oxide or indium oxide etc) and it is usually transparent so that one can see through the glass. It provides high thermal insulation to the buildings by blocking infrared rays so that building can be kept warm in winter and cool in summer for longer period of time. The major issue with this glass is that it attenuates GSM signals due to which communication problem/s arises. In Dr Kiani’s previous research the transmission of GSM and other useful signals was improved by 20 dB, however there was still a transmission loss of 10 dB at resonance frequency. In this project, the transmission of useful microwave signals was further improved by 4 dB for Pilkington’s HP SunCool™ product. Preliminary theoretical results are presented.

I'm a full time watercolour artist. I'm from Japan and I've been living in Brisbane since 2004. The most exciting subjects for me to draw or paint are human figures or other organic subjects, but I also enjoy painting other things such as landscapes and buildings, because even though they are inorganic substances, I naturally try to find the soul within them. I mainly use pen and water colours. I love this one-take finish style and enjoy the kind of improvisation it entails; it is also a very important aspect of my art. Please enjoy my work.
