I am a married mother of 4 girls and two step sons. I make handmade items in my spare time. My business is founded in memory of my father. William's Creative Creations. These are wood plaques custom made from cherry, oak, pine, walnut and black walnut. I make name plaques, house numbers, coasters, special sayings its all pretty much custom made- if you can think of it I can pretty much burn it into the wood. They are then sealed with a protective coating from the weather, sunlight and temperature changes. Prices vary on size and wood type. Start to finish is usually about a week.

I grew up in a small town in North Carolina. I started drawing at a young age, from the first time I was able to hold a pencil. I didn't pick up painting until my late teens. And have been at it ever since. I'm completely self-taught. Oil is my medium of choice because it seems traditional, the stuff the masters used. I also love the smell. When at a gallery, admiring the art, I'm drawn to the oil painting and I have a bad habit of touching the art, like I'm taking some of it with me. At 33, I feel like I'm producing some of the most interesting stuff I've ever done. My style continues to change as I learn new techniques and perfect old ones. In my Trust Series, I cropped the images drastically to focus on the differing skin tones or how the skin folds. Color is one of the elements I love to manipulate. In my new work, I've been dividing a single image into two or three different color schemes in order to see how that can changes the mood of the painting. I have a very direct approach to painting, I block in color and blend the tones. I feel it would be easy to learn. that will make it a fun and rewarding time for all.
