I have worked in the field of arts for over 20 years. I started with a degree in Fine Art, then specialised in film and video for a while before settling in sound design. I produced, recorded and mixed many bands with some success during the 1990s. At the same time I was producing illustrations for various educational publications, these being mostly line drawings and cartoons. For 10 years up until 2010 I taught sound technology at FE and HE level at various places in the south of England, most notably the University Of Arts in London. I have also designed CD covers, logos, posters and flyers. I am now re-starting my work as a freelance illustrator based (at the present) in South London. I still continue to work with sound as well, currently producing work in the duo known as "X-Amount". I am also a keen photographer and graphic designer. Please see my website for examples of my work: http://simon-birch.co.uk/ Thank you.

I am new to this sight, but I am not new to writing. I hold a Master's Degree in English with an emphasis in writing. Humor is one of my strengths. I am also very well schooled in the areas of world history, nutrition and supplementation, music and pop culture. I have been awarded recognition for my scholarly work as well; I presented my paper "Falstaff Evolution" at the Indiana College English Association Conference. In it I outlined a way to dissect characters by using Ferdinand de Saussure's work in Structuralism. I chose to use the Shakespearean character of Falstaff as my example, identifying his character attributes by using the character's context. I have also done humanitarian work in Haiti and Mexico, and I am eager to do more work in this area.
