For example, the image of the house often reflects the institution of family. The structure of the narrative itself tends to reflect linear time. I explore, however, the breaks in this structure: the images of dark space, fragmented space, dissolutions of form. I show how the modern and postmodern are on the continuum of realism. I look at writings about architecture, such as those of Anthony Vidler, and literary criticism, as well as scientific theories of chaos. The first half of my dissertation explores realism to postmodernism and the second half particular spaces: the labyrinth, the eye, and the seasons, where I discuss the intersection of space and time in poetic language. Each chapter discusses a different author, starting with the modernist Natalia Ginzburg. I explore the prose of Natalia Ginzburg, Christa Wolf, Barbara Neuwirth, and the poetry of Paul Celan, Andrea Zanzotto, and Friederike Mayroeeker. I am a musician/writer/singer/composer with many years of experience. I currently play bass and sing with a working variety group. I also play guitar and other instruments. You can hear some of my songs at < originalmusicwriter.com>. I have done much writing and demos for songwriters who only write lyrics or only compose music. Most of the songs I have written and demoed have been published, and even a few, recorded. I am located in Houston, but I can communicate easily by email using mp3 for the music. If I am considered, I believe that we could come up with some very good music. I would be glad to write songs to your specifications and topics/ideas/tempos/styles etc. If you are interested, please contact me for my email and phone number. I am certain that you will not regret picking me to complete your ideas. In fact, I will not accept payment for any job I do that doesn't meet your needs and standards! Thank you, Dr. Lyndon Parker
