For me art comes as naturally as breathing. From drawing blueprints at 3 to commissioned artist renderings from them, I've been driven to master every subject and try all mediums. I've taught others a little but I have never taken a class. This is my first try at on line marketing, so the sample portfolio here showcases diversity of sold work.

this Italian-American has always had a great interest in music, particularly the Oldies, Country and Ethnic music, including Irish. For over 10 years Ms. Appello passionately taught ESL to students of varying ages. Grounded if her Christian faith and spirituality, Katherine endured a range of issues, including a great deal of pain, which was finally diagnosed to be associated with Fibromyalgia. The essence and the power of music, of words, allow Katherine to overcome these struggles each and every time. We are all blessed to have Katherine’s strength, wisdom, and words.

I am a freelance artist and illustrator looking to build up my portfolio and gain experience. Though I have taken classes at the Art Institute of Portland, I am mostly self-taught and I love trying new things. Most of my inspiration comes from anything strange or unusual or just plain quirky with a slash of humor and above all, beautiful. I work primarily in traditional mediums and am adept in watercolor and acrylic and can work in a wide range of styles. Most of my work consists of storybook illustrations, wall art, murals, people and animal portraits, and book cover illustration but I am open to other projects if they interest me. I'm a recovering celebrity who now buys her time in school learning about food. When I'm not there, I like to research drugs and hummus, in that order at the moment. I have a Bachelor's degree in journalism, took a couple film and comedy classes to better myself as well as a screenwriting class. I'm also working on a screenplay entitled Folk Dance, about dancing relationships. I like to think, like a lot, and I'd really like to work on writing for a living, difficult as it may be. Writing and editing share a common goal – to communicate effectively. Good writing and good editing are based on the same principles – clarity, precision, balance, adherence to the rules of grammar and style, and appropriates for the intended audience Many writers find it difficult to edit their own writing. To solve this problem, they turn to a pair of trained eyes to evaluate what they have written. Together, writers and editors try to produce the perfect sentence, the perfect paragraph, or the perfect book. This is where I can help you. With over 4 years of experience in freelance writing and editing, I can provide your work with a fresh set of eyes, coupled with the knowledge necessary to perfect your work. Please note: it is neither my policy, nor an innate aspect of my personality, to criticize your work. Instead, I want to work with you so that you can achieve the masterpiece final draft you have always dreamed about. Consequently, you should not let the stereotypical image of an editor deter you from finalizing your work. When editing or proofreading, I adhere to the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers for academic writing and The New York Public Library Writer’s Guide to Style and Usage for general reference. I use Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary for dictionary reference.
