I am a theatrical lighting designer based in Chicago, and have a semi-full time job in the electrics department at the Goodman Theatre. While I stay busy on various shows, I find enormous amounts of time that I'd like to dedicate to taking on freelance work, ideally doing some kind of Vectorworks cad drafting or writing/editing on a project based schedule. While not formally trained, I've been writing as a hobby for 15+ years, with short plays, personal essays, and on-line review sites, plus I'm currently working on a non-fiction book about lifetime-long careers of friends and family members. I've made contributions to several Chicago organizations, including The Strawdog Theatre Company, The Moth, The Paper Machete and Reviews You can use. My greater goal, outside making additional income, is to get more experience as a writer, and to gain access to editing and publishing firms that I can use to develop my own work in the future. -Drafting and writing samples available upon request
