I am a New York-based freelance illustrator and designer, specializing in middle grade book covers. I have a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University. I spent a summer in New York City interning with the Illustration House gallery, and a semester in college interning with the Florence International Theatre Company in Florence, Italy. Illustration is the only thing I can imagine still wanting to work at when I am 30, 40, even 80 years old. I prefer painting scenes of humanity- people interacting with each other and discovering what it means to be alive, in their own way. I plan on never retiring. With a degree in journalism, I have also worked in advertising and also minored in psychology. I have worked in the sports department of a newspaper, as a reporter for a newspaper, have worked in advertising sales and am now a full time freelance writer. I have written several SEO articles, other articles, rewrites, academic papers, Powerpoints, press releases and several other projects. I am extremely attentive when it comes to grammar and punctuation and have never written anything that I wasn't proud of. My belief as a writer in the field of freelance writing for over a decade, is that you not only have to know how to write but you also need to be able to know a little about a lot of different topics. I definitely take the time to conduct research and am very proud of what I have to offer as a professional freelance writer. I appreciate your time and consideration.

I specialize in creative writing and enjoy crafting words in a manner that will convey your message without dampening the tone by using worn out phrases and all-too-common platitudes. I enjoy writing for entertainment or for more marketing-based purposes. Besides creative writing, I also have skills in research and editing. Previously, I have assisted clients in compiling research in digital and print sources for large-scale book projects. Along with this, I have been asked to review and edit material for style and grammar. A good deal of the editing I have been hired to do has been for clients seeking content revision and styling tips. The most rewarding part of these types of projects is being able to help mold a body of words into something that says exactly what the writer was intending to say in the exact way which they were hoping to say it without sacrificing his or her individuality. In addition to these skills, I have a good deal of experience working with English as a Second Language (ESL) clients. Though the process of coaching my students language skills I have gained a fresh perspective on the structures and peculiarities of the English language. With a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a diverse research, writing and editing past; I am ready to tackle your latest project! I always throw myself wholeheartedly into my work and meet your needs in a timely fashion

Early in my career I wrote a short story for a small newspaper contest and won first place. That got me seriously looking at writing as a career. I worked at this same paper, The Coast Mountain News as production assistant for a short while. Moving to a bigger centre in the Okanagan for my son's health, I continued to supply hard news articles to the paper throughout the Okanagan Mountain fire of 2003. Settling in Penticton I was asked to be a ghost writer on a large web writing project, giving me the chance to learn more about article writing and web reporting. As a travel writer I enjoyed seeing the hidden gems in BC. It really is "the Best Place on Earth". It was an amazing journey in expanding my writing experience, learning more about my own back yard and writing with a team. Consequently because of my love of writing, I have chosen freelance writing as a full time career. I have traveled around the world and while living in Switzerland for almost 5 amazing years I travelled adjoining countries extensively. I feel this experience is an asset I can bring into my writing. I am committed to providing informative and well-written articles on tight deadlines. My areas of expertise include: Canadian history, community research, hard news stories, fiction and more recently, home renovations on a budget. Since I began my freelance writing career, I have had the opportunity to travel and see many parts of my home province, British Columbia. If you have an area- or issue-specific idea for an article, I look forward to sharing some of my experiences with your readers through my writing. I am excited to report that my first novel will be published this year. Please keep checking Facebook, Blogger, and Twitter for updates and I'll make sure to let you know when the release date is.
