I received my Master's Degree in Fine Art from The University of Michigan in 2011, with an emphasis in sculpture and drawing. My art is an expression of personal paranoia created in an aesthetic style similar to E.C. Comics, MADD Magazine, and retro animatronics: grotesque, yet playful. A major influence of mine are dark rides. I grew up near Pittsburgh, and would ride the numerous dark rides at Kennywood Amusement Park every summer. My favorite was Le Cachot created by Bill Tracy. I am currently a member of DAFE (Darkride And Funhouse Enthusiasts), and have gone on several outings and behind-the-scenes tours. Working in the dark ride industry has been a life-long dream of mine, and I am will jump at the opportunity to do so. I am familiar with many different technical processes of sculpture: -Metal working: TIG Welding, MIG Welding, ARCH Welding, bronze pouring -Polymer clay sculpting: i.e. Super Sculpey molding and baking -Plaster casting and subtractive sculpting -Mold making using plaster, rubber, and algenate -Basic mechanical techniques incorporating motors, motion sensors, simple electronics I -like all of the other applicants for this position- am a horror movie aficionado, but what sets me apart is the academic research I have done into grotesque imagery. In addition to my art historical background, I have traveled to Rome, Florence, Paris, and throughout India documenting depictions of demons, Last Judgment/ Hell scenes, antique weaponry, and monster designs across cultures and time periods. I have amassed a visual library not found in movies, textbooks, or the Internet -making my aesthetic background and subsequent designs unique. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to hear back from you, -Sean Darby Below is my abridged resume; a full resume is available upon request. I am a self taught videographer and web designer. I enjoy working on computers and so I started teaching myself how to do different types of things related to multimedia. if you go to my website reimsdigitalstudios.com you will find samples of some of the things I have done. I would say my biggest accomplishment having to do with video work was the anniversary video I did for Noah's Wish animal rescue from California well I was in Vernon, British Columbia. We were able to get a product that they liked without ever having to meet in person. we did everything over the Internet. So I do not have to be in the same place as you are for most projects and I can still do the project for you.

I've been using flash and After Effects as an animation tool for over 10 years. My skills are that of a creative director with the power to write, conceptualize, illustrate, animate and finally bring stories to life. I consider cartoon characters as inexpensive actors that don’t bitch about having their own trailer while they are on the set. I started my career as a syndicated single panel cartoonist with Tribune Media Services in Chicago. After 45 newspapers and a 5 year run, I traded newsprint for the digital world. I now combine my 2-D cartooning skills with writing and animation. Currently I'm developing several TV shows with Curious Pictures and has had development contracts with all of the major studios. My time has been divided between Fortune 500 client work, show development and creating animation shorts for the festival circuit.
