I would consider my strengths, without going on too much, to be in story structure, pathos infused comedy and unusual situations, not to mention writing with...

I love to be in business and I have a passion for helping people. Here is a list of my talents: Taxes-PTIN issued by Department of Treasury! Weddings and wedding planning, Inventing, Patents, Law and Legal Research, Writing, Antiques and Appraisals! Online Sales, and Currently working on designing an app to sell. I generally do a rate per job for the most part, but I have to put something in the box. So if you need a quote, send me a message. I have multiple college degrees, multiple certificates I earned in college as electives because I enjoy a challenge such as EMT, Pharmacy Tech, Microcomputers, I have achieved above the ACT CAAP and received a Certificate of Achievement in Critical Thinking for scoring way above the National Means, I am a member of NTHS-National Technical Honor Society, I have went to tax school as well and have a current PTIN/IRS issued number, I like to keep busy, but most of all, I love it when I impress others with outstanding work, a better insight into something, or come up with a solution. Sometimes this comes across in my writing, and other times it comes across in the work I do. But whatever the challenge, I take it, accept it, enjoy it, and meet it!

Mile High United Way Creative Services Denver, Colorado During my 13 years of employment with Mile High United Way I held the position of sole, in-house designer, supporting the creative needs for a staff of 100 individuals and countless volunteers and donors. Creating for a $32 million dollar organization provided me with a wide variety of opportunities, these include; strategic planning, storytelling and writing, unique collateral design (brochures, direct mail, invitations, posters, newsletters, annual reports, etc.), photography, advertising, website design and electronic communication (CRMs Kintera and Blackbaud), and event collateral for as many as 43 events each year. As you can imagine the target audience for this organization is quite diverse, therefore, each project was approached with clear outcome objectives to support budget-conscious solutions. I also served as the brand marshal. General skills employed: Fully-versed in Adobe CS6 design programs, HTML, budget management, relationship building, project management, efficiency, inventive quick-thinking, complex problem solving, decision-making, and organization... to name a few. Shortland Publishing - The Wright Group Publishing Denver, Colorado - Auckland, New Zealand - Seattle, Washington Books are my personal addiction. I count five years of design practice in the book publishing arena functioning as the Denver-based Art Director for Shortland and as a designer with the Seattle-based Wright Group. Our mission was to developed bilingual, whole-language reading program materials for the U.S. education market. The exciting aspects of this position were: working with illustrators and authors across the globe, developing each book’s direction and illustration within the whole-language structure, learning some Spanish as our audience learned English, and directing/styling photography. I also created the marketing materials and catalogs, supported the maintenance of the IT system and had the opportunity to travel and promote our product. At the Denver office I supervised the four individuals who made up the graphic and production staff. Leaman/Rodale Publications Wheat Ridge, Colorado Magazine publishing and marketing were the focus of my four years at Leman. Assignments included: illustration, page design, catalog and book design, and newsletters. The added benefit was learning quilt design and fond appreciation for the fiber arts community. This position also provided the opportunity to refine my photo styling and direction skills. Other ’Round and about Beyond my experience in the graphic design field I am an oil painter and lover of all things “art”. Endlessly curious, I capture new and useful information every day. I hold an Associates Degree in design with a masters in experience. I enjoy the privilege of assisting a few local organizations with freelance, specifically The Denver School of the Arts (Dance department) and The Denver Scholarship Foundation. My life experience has benefited from: being a great mom (or having a wonderful daughter), living abroad and working in Africa where I taught reading and writing to women in Lingala and developed visual teaching aids.

Senior Software Engineer, CriTech Research, Saline, MI 01/2006-06/2006 Served as a technical lead/architect and lead programmer on a contract Java project for a plug-in to existing blood bank software. Then served as project manager and lead programmer on a second Java plug-in project for the same company and software package. Senior Software Engineer, The Solutions Group, Ann Arbor, MI 09/2004-02/2006 Served as technical lead and lead programmer/architect on a project to replace and re-engineer the business process for The Compensation Advisory Organization of Michigan/Michigan Workers Compensation Placement Facility. This project moved their business software from a mini-computer based COBOL program to a distributed Windows .Net platform. This software re-architected many business processes and increased employee productivity by approximately 15%. Served as the lead programmer on a .Net application to re-engineer and automate the creation and receipt of required shipping documents such as shipping schedules, advance shipping notices and bills of lading. The application then produced a recommended production schedule to meet the requirements of the received shipping schedules. This application was a key to the company receiving their Ford Q-1 rating. This project included developing a handheld system with scanner for use in the plant. The result led to approximately a 30% increase in productivity in the shipping of the products and production scheduling. Senior Consultant, Pluribus Solutions, Novi, MI 03/2001-09/2004 Defunct? Worked on a web based solution, CMHLink, and helped re-engineer the business processes for the Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency. This web-based application replaced a commercial desktop application they were using that did not meet their needs. It also opened up the WCCMHA system to providers for the first time. Managers estimated that this application increased productivity at least 10-15% and provided a valuable service to their providers. Served as the programmer and webmaster for the Wayne County Airport Authority, which runs the Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports. Senior Software Engineer, Interface Systems/Tumbleweed Communications, Ann Arbor, MI Defunct 05/2000-01/2001 Worked on all aspects of a commercial application, developed in Java using eXtreme Programming methodologies, which converted mainframe print streams to PDF, HTML and XML formats. This application was later sold by Tumbleweed Communications, after the purchase of Interface Systems, to a competitor because they wished to get the technology we were using because it was actually superior to theirs. Tumbleweed Communications had only wanted our technology, our software engineers and our methodology for use in their business of secure email and did not want to be in the field of mainframe print stream conversion. Senior Software Engineer, Advanced Systems International, Southfield, MI Defunct 08/1998-05/2000 Served as the Application Architect, Technical Lead and Lead Programmer for a new warehouse data collection system called ATLink. ATLink interfaced with SAP and Wonderware systems using DCOM, Microsoft Transaction Server and Message Queue, as well as handheld and forklift mounted terminals with long range scanning capability, for the warehouse data collection. The application resulted in an engine that interfaced with SAP that was reusable on subsequent projects at the company. The first customer, Imperial Tobacco of Canada, estimated about a 10-20% increase in warehouse productivity and the almost virtual elimination of errors in the system because of the elimination of manual worker data input. Software Engineer - Senior Software Engineer, South Wind Design, Ann Arbor, MI Defunct 02/1994-07/1998 Developed ODBC drivers and other commercial products using Visual C++. The main databases targeted by the ODBC drivers were Microsoft SQL Server and Pervasive Software’s Pervasive.SQL and Btrieve. Btrieve/Pervasive Software had originally meant for this ODBC driver to be a “check the box” item to their software. However, it became so important to their customers as the main means of connecting their software to the Btrieve databases they used in their products, that Pervasive Software felt they had to bring the development in house and fully under their control.
