My career started in film animation and expanded to include tv, publishing (mainly for children) and a lengthy spell teaching illustration, graphic design and art-direction. I worked in London, but now I paint and draw and live and work in Devon. The mainly agricultural and fishing environment here is a great influence. The way people work keeps drawing me back as a subject and I am now also looking at industrial subjects. Since starting this aspect of a ‘life in art’, my work has been exhibited at the Flavel Art Centre in Dartmouth and via Art Spaces in Totnes. Paintings and drawings are for sale and some of these are available as limited edition giclée prints. Items marked with a were either commissions or have been sold. If you are interested in a specific piece or would like more information, wish to discuss a commission, large or small, please contact me - I am very happy to discuss your requirements and give advice where necessary. My subjects are people and/or scenes that I see as telling a story. They're actual recreations of what jumped out at me as a naturally great composition, and yes, I work from my own photographs. I'm always on the lookout for things that haven't already been "done to death"! My style has been compared to Hopper's, which I take as a great compliment. I've been doing portraits for many years, and also prefer to do them from a photo, preferably taken by me whenever possible. I sell high quality, professionally made prints of most of my work, excluding pieces that were commissioned. Many of my originals are also for sale, please contact me if you are interested!
