I don't think there was ever really a point in my life where I became an artist. As far as I can remember, art has just always been part of who I am. If you ask me which is my favorite medium to work with, my answer will be that it can change from day to day. I love anything that presents a challenge. I've drawn in graphite, color pencils, watercolor pencils...I've painted with acrylics, oils, gouaches...I've thrown clay, sculpted clay, fired clay...I've shot, developed, printed from my own film and progressed into digital photography...I've sculpted figures out of wire, mesh, foam and paper...and even digitally colored a graphic novel. And I've loved all of it...yes, after weeks of frustration, I even loved working with gouache! Today I'm still creating, still learning and still loving what I do. Ask me my favorite medium today and I'll tell you photography. Ask me tomorrow, it may be painting. But one thing that I can promise you is that there will always be paint on my clothes, clay under my nails and a flash card in my pocket!

I am a freelance commercial artist. Santa Barbara has been my headquarters since I graduated in Illustration and Design from from Otis Art Institute, LA and Parsons School of Design, NY. I offer traditional illustration and design, and enjoy working both by hand and digitally. Services: As a commercial artist, I can provide complete book design (Wildflowers of the Santa Barbara Foothills, Cistmonte Publishing.) I enjoy designing book jackets, offering both illustration & design for the cover, or simply an approach that includes type and an option of photography. In addition to basic design, I can provide interior illustrations, either in B&W or in full color. Handtinting and digitally tinting photography is another tool in my tool box. I often using my own images along with stock photography or researched historical images. Also, clients might provide an image for custom tinting or restoration for book covers and interior photography. Other specialties include medical illustration, including product and surgical protocol, and recently, fine art portraiture. In short, I wear a few hats and enjoy the challenges of providing a visual narrative to the project at hand. Clients: Over the years, publishing clients include Graphic de France, Portal, Little Brown, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Gibbs Smith, Companion Press ,Canari Press, Cistamonte Publishing, Fliptomania, MCA Video and Thomas Nelson, to name a few. Many of my clients are independent authors who self publish their works. Projects: These projects offer up a range of works from book design & layout, to greeting cards, calendars, posters, cover art, a line of paper products, logo branding and collateral design, editorial work for magazines and newspapers, illustrative maps, and T shirts designs. The best of all worlds!

I am an agile writer, it's what I do best because I do it for the love of it. I add my special touch to everything I do, and although my writings are usually inspired by personal events and feelings, they have a special way of speaking out to the vox pop. I deliver, I do not disappoint.
