Christopher Slaymaker is potent contemporary painter. His work contains strong gestural forms combined with abstract dream-space, rendered with rich dynamic brushwork. Slaymaker’s approach to his subjects is gentle and focused. The figures that star in Slaymaker’s autobiographical paintings exhibit a blooming self-awareness and a deep delight. Friends, favorite dogs, and the artist himself all play a role in the story of spiritual searching in his paintings. Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Phyllis.I will try to give you a "snapshot" of who I am, but it may be hard to fit 37 years of living into such a small space! I have been married to my wonderful husband Don for 19 years. We have three energetic children. I have a BS from Michigan State University in fish and wildlife biology, and a two year in equine farm management. I have also taken enough Spanish to be able to read Spanish novelas when I have time. I was born, and lived most of my life in Michigan. My family and I moved to Texas four years ago due to work. I have been to Canada, Mexico, and at least ten other states. I love to play soccer and baseball with my kids. I spend my "me time" at the gym working out. I am also very concious about diet, since I have to manage wheat and milk intolerance. I have had many life experiences, both good and bad, that will help me connect with readers. I have earned my own unique outlook on life with first hand experience. I try to face everything with a positive outlook, and encourage others when I can.
