Ashley Sorgea is a former film student from Columbia College Chicago. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the middle of a blizzard and raised on the shores of the muddy Mississippi in Alton, Illinois. She now is working to further her knowledge and skill in the craft of film with the plan of one day working in the industry as a full-fledged post-production editor. She loves the world of movies and is fascinated by the industry that creates them. Her love of film is only rivaled by her love for hockey, a passion she carries over into editing. Her work has recently been featured on the Yahoo.com hockey blog “Puck Daddy.” She is currently working to build her reel and further her creative abilities in this computer driven art form in the style of Narrative and Non Liner Editing.

This was a hobby that turned into something more. I started out in photography and with the new DSLRs I transitioned into videography. I'm completely self taught and learned through trial and error. I use Adobe for editing and animation as well as Maya for 3d design and modeling. My clients are always shocked when I show up because it's normally just me, three camera and my equipment. I guess they wonder how is it all going to work. Then they see the finished product and they schedule me for more. Im fast, efficient, professional and want to ensure that I "capture the moment" you want to get and the feeling you need to portray.

I am an extremely energetic go getter, who is able to present leadership skills as well as be a team player. I have superior conceptual skills from brainstorming to execution. I am a graduate from The Art Institue of Phoenix with my Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design. I also am a passionate artsy fartsy type who thrives to CREATE. Whether "creating" means long hours in Photoshop, taking a pencil to my sketch book, knitting my 50th beanie, revamping some old furniture, performing T-Shirt surgery, or snapping a photo; I am enfatuated with the thought of my visions coming to life. Not only do I love the final product, but I sure enjoy the journey and process along the way. My online portfolio here www.heidiwhitson.com
