My name is Alycia, better known as “Leash-Dawg” to friends, family, teachers, co-workers, and acquaintances. Like any typical south Louisiana girl I adore spicy food, sweating profusely at LSU football games, and outdoor activities of any kind. I like to dress up in costume whenever possible – I’d like to think I have perfected the Lady Gaga Poker-Face getup. I love animals, especially dogs...

I love what I do and am very motivated to succeed, which is why I have been a successful professional freelance proofreader, editor and copy editor for 20 years. Because of my background in English skills, I am highly organized and detail-oriented in my work for the advertising industry, publishing industry, journalism and the field of education. My favorite work challenge was being hired to revitalize a poorly received and error-riddled university yearbook and newspaper. I trained the students on proofing for style, spelling, grammar and spelling and helped mold both into award-winning publications within a year. I conceived, developed and created the first proofreading/editing courses for a private university. In addition, I have edited hundreds of manuscripts—both fiction and nonfiction—mentored many writers into publication at major publishing houses (Simon & Schuster, Avon, Ballantine). I enjoy editing and have developed strong interpersonal skills through coaching students and dealing with administrators and my freelance clients. I’ve worked extensively with MS Word (Track Changes), as well as Adobe Acrobat—also the Chicago Manual of Style, AP, and MLA formats. I’ve done a great deal of online editing, copy editing and proofreading; I have an eagle eye for spotting mistakes—whether in syntax, word choice, typographics, spelling or grammar. As my own bestselling novel taught me, I can do just about anything I put my mind and passion to. •Genre Fiction •Nonfiction Books •Literary Fiction •Memoirs •Newspaper Articles •Short Fiction •College Papers •Marketing Pieces •Query Letters PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Freelance Editor Self-employed 1985-Present • Editing, copy editing, proofreading, consulting, mentoring Guided several writers to publication Senior Editor A-1 Editing Service 2007-Present • Editing, copy editing, writing novels and narrative nonfiction Private Writing Coach Self Employed 2006-Present •Mentored many writers to publication • Substantive editing • Proofreading • Copy Editing • For dissertations, articles, class synopses • For fiction: characterization, plot, dialogue, pacing, copy editing, proofreading Creative Writing Teacher University of CA, Riverside Extension 1982-present Fiction Workshop (Works in Progress): fall 2006, spring & summer 2007, winter 2008 Journalism Professor California Baptist University: 9/2006-6/2007 • Newspaper & yearbook production: Guided to award-winning publications • Proofreading, grammar, punctuation • Editing • Writing Skills • Copy editing • Teaching Author Self-employed 1980-present • 8 published full length works of fiction Editor & Consultant Self-employed 1980-present • Edited manuscripts for publication • Mentored writers •Proficient in MS Word (track changes), Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Excel, Chicago Manual of Style, MLA and AP style. •Home Office Includes: OSX, Fax, Copier, High Speed Internet, and Telephone. My name is Perry Estelle. I have been writing humour of all kinds since I understood what the phrase ‘it’s not rocket science’ meant. Write all genres of comedy. Specialise in observational satire and spoof. I have written several joke books. I wrote "Perry and Terry's Pet Hates and Pork Scratchings.” A collection of wordplay life observations. A satirical surreal twist. It’s a climb out of reality. I’m presently writing a series of ‘psycho-chiller’ stories. Don’t know if I could ever write a novel. I don’t think I’ve got that sort of talent. I like ‘quickfix’ stuff. For example, I’m writing a mishmash of simultaneuos plots at the moment right now in my 'Children Of the Revoultion'. It's a very challenging but exciting project for me. This work is a fictional parody set in the UK in the mid eighties. It hopes to achieve a range of responses from the reader. It is a cautionary tale littered with dilemmas dealing with minority group issues. This story portrays a varied array of plausible reflections of how society reacts to ‘people who are different.’ The abuse or failed inaction and denial of those bound with a duty of care and the many hidden horrors of being a victim to the system are released on almost every page. This piece is about human reaction to what we would rather ‘sweep under the carpet’ when dealing with the open sores left seething in our society to the needs of its more vulnerable members. I love to write for kids as I think many messages (I sound a little smug here so forgive me) about personal responsibility, caring for our planet and others less fortunate using dramatic situation writing is a vehicle to convey some sort of positive imprint on the minds of teenagers. I also write as an illegal alter ego. I am an agony uncle called ‘Dr Farquar’ who gives flawed advice to disturbingly ironic questions. I have a stock of 11000 of these “conversations with the paranoid" with carefully worded answers sure to offend. Although, I like to play dangerous games with cynicism! I have written over 3000 pet hates. www.pet-hates.info www.fugitiveauthor.com/pethates Examples: "I really hate....." PMT sufferers that lose their temper because it’s all the rage. Famous dyslexics that receive lots of letters but usually in the wrong order. Smokers who may die if they don’t quit. Stay away from the light. Randy druids that should be a Shaman of themselves. I am a cartoonist and provide most of my own illustrations for my humour products. I have two sel-publishing sites that have been attracting a hardcore readership over the last10 years with over 70 authors that guest write for me
