I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I majored in illustration through high school and college in hopes of becoming a Disney animator. I only made it through my first year of college and in looking for money for college I joined the Marine Corps. While I was in I started airbrushing and have been doing that off and on when the jobs have come in. I have just recently decided to do my art full time and have been working to build my portfolio. I specialize in wildlife, nature, and religious art.

I would like to introduce myself, I am an artist by birth, I have always had the ability to reproduce every image that my eyes see, when I attended high school, my art teacher was astounded by the natural talent that I had acquired in my early childhood. In every field of the creative process I was able to excel in various different media, drawing, painting, sculpture, carving, and lettering, just to name a few, and has worked in a vast amount of mediums, graphite, charcoal, pastel, conte, colored pencil, pen and ink, chalk, markers, crayons, oil pastel, oil, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, clay, wood, acrylic enamel, airbrush, the list could go on,as an artist at this point in my life, I am already wealthy with the gifts that God has given me!

The fingers tap away and another masterpiece is born. Although perhaps not because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But as they say, money talks. So perhaps the best way to judge a true writing masterpiece is by the amount of money received for it? And yet, we all must remember the ever true adage, "money is the root of all evil." So a catch-22 then? The above sample does not accurately represent my actual beliefs but I hope it highlights how fun and contradictory creative writing can be. If I may be so bold as to list my previous accomplishments in order to win your affections: - Wrote management training curriculum for large Seattle based non-profit - Editor and writer for two in house book publications - Marketing collateral designer and writer for a senior living facility (postcards, brochures, mailings, etc) - Wrote mission statement for same senior living facility - Freelance internet writer, writing 2500 word articles on a daily basis -Won my previous company the "Top Google Places" award for our Google business listing There is nothing worse than a great idea trapped inside someone's head. I would love to bring your ideas to life. Thank you! Derek Gillette
