Project still in progress and am actively involved. Assisted in the development of Premier Pellets, LLC, a New Mexico wood pellet and wood shavings manufacturing firm in Tularosa, NM. Provided site location, financial planning, and local government laision. Gained extensive experience in wood pellet production and biomass utilization. Part owner of North Star Gasifier, LLC, a new alternative fuel technology, designed to convert various biomass feedstocks into various gases which can be used to produce power, or heat to produce steam, or gases such as methane and hydrogen for other manufacturing purposes. The North Star Gasifier was designed in conjunction with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Consulted for North Star Resource Management Services on business development in biomass collection and utilization. Worked with companies in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Colorado on North Star’s behalf. Awarded $800,000 grant from Economic Development Administration for new Jasper Vocational Training Center. Secured $325,000 grant to construct Lake Sam Rayburn Pavilion to serve as professional fishing tournament headquarters for Lake Sam Rayburn, Tx. Wrote major proposal for Jasper County Commissioners Court to successfully win construction of new Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Fish Hatchery at Lake Sam Rayburn which will be the largest fish hatchery in Texas. Brought first C.A.S.T. For Kids fishing tournament to Jasper in 2002 and actively participate with on-going children’s fishing tournaments. Secured $175,000 Small Business Loan Fund for Linden Economic Development Corporation. Developed City Park grant for Linden, Texas. Secured financing and property for 84-acre Linden Industrial Park. Assisted in establishment of City Library, Naples, Texas. Developed City of McGregor Industrial Park Plan for 9600-acre former military facility. Secured $800,000 grant for Community Development affecting Marshall, surrounding communities, and having impact on location of TSTC in Marshall. Secured $400,000 grant for acquisition of new facility for City of Longview Head Start program. Acquired 154 lots in Marshall by private donation to begin their first low-income housing project since early 1970's. Created new home construction-single family homebuyer's program for low-income families with $347,000 HOME grant from Texas Dept. of Housing and Community Affairs. Secured initial grant for East Texas Open Door located in Marshall to create one of the premier youth shelters in Texas. Founded Retired Senior Volunteer Program for East Texas. Successfully managed East Texas Human Development Corporation, a Community Action Program, starting as a Head Start Program Director for seven years, and becoming the agency Executive Director and serving in that capacity for 16 years. Increased programs from a small rural two county project to serving up to nine counties with over two hundred employees. One of the largest rural programs in Texas. I also volunteer my services to missionary groups in the Navajo Nations in New Mexico and Utah and to the Dominican Republic and Haiti providing planning and implementation assistance on various economic development/community development initiatives.
