Hello. My name is Kat Livengood and my company, Mazen Photography and Design, is really just a fancy company name for... well.... me. Such a bizarre name, right? Well, yes. But, like everything else, this too has roots. I actually named it "Mazen" because the idea to do something that I loved as a professional venture came when I was sitting with my dog, Mazen. Named out of respect for my favorite Rock and Roll band of all time (Aerosmith), Mazen Tyler looked up at me at one of those life cross roads - and poof (or woof) - an idea was born into this world. ?For my photography I find myself at ease shooting with my Canon Camera. While I have shot (and do shoot) nature and events, I am most intrigued with the human face. The blank canvas of a child's innocent stare to the weathered character of the elderly, each face and each expression tells a story and each story is begging to be captured. Today the technology exists to present the stories in their full brilliant color or their baseline light of black and white. There is a promise in a well taken portrait - a promise of longevity, of impression and of legacy. Everything is preserved in a photo - the moment, the mood and the energy. ?For designing photographer there is a very similar approach to filling a frame. It is all about composition. About mixing the balanced, with the unbalanced - about appeasing the senses and intriguing them simultaneously. So in my approach to design I believe that space is key. Negative space playing just as big a role as any other, is drawing the eye while maintaining harmony. Marketing is about giving your customer's what they want - and in some cases knowing what they want before they do. A good design will prove fresh enough to gain trust while also establishing willingness to be relevant - to be modern. With so many advertisements in the world today, how do you stand apart from your competition? Creative Marketing, fresh design and a play to your strengths will give you results. Continuing to grow and learn and change with your audience will enhance them. Like all things in life though, everything starts with two things - and idea and a design. ?So thank you for your visit to my Freelanced.com page and for your time. As we all buzz around at 100 miles per hour, I fully realize how valuable this is and am humbled by your attention to my work. If you would like to reach out to me for a session or project, my contact information can be found on the "CONTACT" page of my website: www.mazenphotography.com" - KAT ?Kat Livengood graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Telecommunications and Film Studies. She has worked for Emmy award winning production houses, International Talent Agencies, Book Publishers and Small Businesses across Indiana. She is also an experienced media and email marketer with an Indianapolis based global service provider.

Responsibilities – The Pfizer India e-News and e-Media section is Pfizer’s unique way of keeping the world informed about Pfizer India initiatives and achievements. This simplistic, elegant and futuristic segment has a large fan following and is a growing resource for media personnel and Pfizer admirers alike. My responsibility as an editor is to make sure that the content published is accurate, interesting, soft selling and with the right dosage of SEO keywords. A talented team of writers compose the initial draft, after being fed with data from the R&D and News Team. I transform the draft into a compelling piece of content that matches Pfizer’s awe-inspiring standards and commitments. It is essential to keep in mind that the average “web-reader” has a very short attention span and I need to make sure that the content is perspicuous enough to keep the reader glued to it and make him long for more when he reaches the last line of a particular piece. A lot of people find us through search engines and it’s hence important to sprinkle the right dose of keywords also. ? Responsibilities – 111ideas.com was a web consulting firm specializing in web solutions for medium and small businesses in India and abroad. I was placed with the content development team and had to produce unique web content for landing pages, product descriptions [for e-commerce sites], blog posts, press releases, SEO articles and articles for article directory submissions. The company had a diverse range of clients – from chiropractors to swimming pool equipment dealers. The challenge was not to satisfy the respective site owners, but to step into the shoes of the surfers from different categories and create content that appealed to them. 123greetings.com 2003 - 2005 Web Content Writer ? Responsibilities – 123greetings.com is the web’s biggest free e-card site. As a content writer I had to write short and simple greeting card messages that carried deep meanings. I also had to manage the newsletters and daily blog posts. Modus Operandi “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”. I’m mature enough to understand that a literary masterpiece often ends up glorifying the writer and not enlightening the reader. April 2011 - Event Filmer, Vans Shoe Co. •?A one day competition held at Caringorm Mountain in Scotland. March 2011 - Head Filmer & Editor, SoulSports ltd. •?I was employed as head filmer and editor for The Brits, a week long extreme sports festival held in Laax, Switzerland. My duties were to film and edit each day's events and produce a 3-5 minute film with 24 hours. December 2009 - Present: In-house filmer and editor for Sno!Zone Scotland. •???have been taken on on a freelance basis to film, edit and produce all promotional material on behalf of the facility. This includes internet based advertising, promo shorts and event coverage. July 2005 – Present: Editor, Cameraman & Producer, WhiteSpace Productions • A snowboard film production collective with 6 previous releases 1. “WhiteSpace Presents…” (2006) Production run of 20,000 copies. Released on front cover of Snowboard UK (UK’s largest circulating snow sports publication) 2. “Jibberish” (2007) Released through Method.TV, Europe’s most popular snowboard dedicated website with membership of over 80,000. Over 5,000 downloads on the first day alone. 3. “Fists of Glory” (2008) Entry into the Oakley Jib-Vid. Europe-wide snowboard filmmaking competition, teams of 3 given 26 hours to film, edit and produce a 2-minute short film. Was awarded 11th place. 4. “Our Mountain Story” (2008) Entry into the prestigious Mountain Stories competition, a UK wide competition presented by Urb-Orbis & The Snowboard Asylum (the UK’s largest chain of snowboard stores). Was awarded “Best Season Story” prize. An FOC release, available at all Snowboard Asylum outlets with a production run of 100,000 copies. 5. “Snowbombing-Behind the Scenes” (2009). A behind-the-scenes POV film commissioned by Outgoing Ski ltd., the company behind the Snowbombing music festival. As 2009 was the 10th anniversary, the production team decided they would like a record of what they do to make the festival happen. I was given a vague brief and allowed to use my own discretion to produce an 18-minute film with a turnaround time of less than 4 weeks. 6. “Get Yer Boots On” (2010). This project was farther reaching than any of the previous as it featured riding from snowboarders from across the UK, rather than just the WhiteSpace crew specifically. A much harder project as not all filming was done by me and so to work with other peoples shots, filmed in a different style, and try to make the whole thing blend together and flow properly was definitely my biggest challenge so far. The film was released throught the TSA website and has had over 12,000 downloads to date. •?I have a working knowledge of the Canon XM2, XL1s, 5DmkII, 7D, 550D and the Sony Z1, Z5, Z7 • All post-production used Adobe Creative Suite. • As part of only a 2 man filming crew, it was my responsibility for post-production; capturing, choosing shots, assembling footage (involves a large degree of quality control) and production design, (graphics, moving images etc.) • With the largest production Jibberish, I was in charge of liasing with the sponsors to discuss the design of their advertising, and overall production. • As with almost all winter sport productions, November is the time of year to release, so being able to produce a progressive and fresh looking piece within 6 months of completing filming takes a huge amount of dedication and self-management. The snowboarding world can be extremely fickle and so the quality control needed to produce a film of merit must be very high. • Our second production, Jibberish, was released through a website and so had to be compressed into an online format, suitable for slow and fast streaming. The teasers we produced for our other films were also for the web. • Conditions in the mountains can change rapidly and so it can be difficult to keep the same settings for the images, relying on colour correction in post-production was necessary in many cases. I am a musician and songwriter living in Nashville. My musical training is in percussion, however, most of my experience has been with electric guitar and bass guitar. I have had a little training on piano as well. I can sing, though I am untrained; I consider myself a baritone. Stylistically, I lean toward classic rock, modern rock, and blues music. As a songwriter, I write what I know. I started songwriting over 15 years ago, largely as a means of processing the world around me and dealing with my own emotions. I have written tragic stories, often inspired by people I have met. I have written love songs. I have written praise & worship songs and songs that address spiritual issues. (Please know that I identify with Judeo-Christian faith and tend to write from that perspective.) My writing styles tend toward the genres listed above. I also have some experience with the technical side of musical instruments. I have an interest in tube amplifiers and have modified and repaired tube amps in my home. I have built or modified all of my electric guitars. This interest has been strong enough to influence my professional career: I have worked for Gibson Guitar since December, 2010.
