I am an artist with a love for archaeology and history. As a professional artist I have participated in juried exhibits and festivals, creating commissioned work and selling my work through galleries. I have taught art to children and adults, developing the lessons through self-study and research, both in a classroom setting and privately with individual students. I have created and maintained a website, and worked with the business administration, inventory and customer service necessary for a self-employed artist. I am organized, disciplined, motivated and hard-working, but with a true passion for creating art. Seeking to explore my love for history and archaeological conservation, I studied art conservation for a year in Italy and continued on to England where I received my Masters’ degrees at the University College London with an internship at the Museum of London. I have spent the past two and a half years at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC Lab), a part of the Maryland Historical Trust, which has been an invaluable experience allowing me to combine my ability as a professional artist with my fascination with history. However, despite my love of conservation and archaeology, it has been difficult dividing my time between conservation and art. I have continued to draw and paint wherever I have lived and participated in exhibits and group art events while in Southern Maryland. Moving back to Georgia, I have decided to continue in my art career. I'm a philosophy college graduate with a passion for words, from acting and vocal performance to writing. Writing takes a special eye to see the world as it is, or perhaps more than it is; I'm working on developing that. I've have collaborated in writing and producing two feature-films and several shorts films, have co-written other scripts and plays, and have a love (and a knack) for writing poetry as well. I have been asked to read commissioned poems for official university functions, and have performed in several feature-films and theatrical productions, with some training in voice.

I have been working in a engineering office for over 20 years, and almost everyday for 20 years I have told myself I'd rather be drawing something other than blueprints. My prefer style to illustrate is cartoons, but because of my engineering side I can be very detailed and technical. I like to begin all my drawings with pencil on paper and do the detailing with computer software.
