My name is Elisha Tahata. Presently I am an undergraduate student studying a Bachelor in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University in Brisbane. One of my biggest passions is writing, creative writing in particular but I'm also competent in other styles of writing. I started writing at a very young age, probably around seven or eight-years-old, I entered writing competitions all throughout high school and was fortunate enough to have one of my short stories published. If you are wondering something along the lines of "if this person loves writing so much, why is she studying criminology instead of creative writing"? Well, that is a good question. Here is what I have to say about that : there are many styles of writing, ( academic, business-style, song-writing ) and some of them are exactly the style of writing that people can be educated about. But I believe that creative writing is not something that can be taught, or something that you can "explain" to someone or provide guidance, you just can't teach creative writing. One can either write or they can't. One can either evoke emotion and feeling and thought in their reader/s, or they..can't. Besides, sometimes a typical learning institution takes the creativity out of creative writing and that is not creative writing. It's just writing without the heart in it. I am an avid and passionate writer. I try to write everyday. All my writing can found online on my blog. I don't have any "professional" qualifications as a writer, but I'm hard-working and passionate and often use writing as a way to communicate with others. Also, some of my writing is focused on my life as a person on the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
