Songwriter, Music Production, Guitarist, Singer, and Instructor I grew up in Chicagoland listening to a diverse selection of seventies artists on Chicago’s then mega-station, WLS Radio, forming a love for many styles of music early on in my life. Continuing in this tradition throughout the eighties, nineties, and right into the current century; my influences range from classical to hard rock right on to modern jazz. My writing style combines these elements with my love for power pop, creating harmony-laden power-pop guitar-rock. Phew, now that’s a category! A new genre, I think not, but this meld of rock-style guitar and harmony-laden pop music has become my signature style. I studied music formally and was awarded the Presidential Scholarship in Classical Guitar Performance from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and received another full-tuition performance scholarship from the Chicago Musical College to study classical guitar with Paul Henry. I attended many classical guitar master classes, most notably the International GuitarFest at the Boston Conservatory of Music studying with Hubert Kappel, Bruce Holzman, and Stephen Aron to name a few. Although I continue to write in my signature harmony-laden power-pop guitar-rock style, every-so-often I enjoy intertwining more complex guitar work into my music.
