I'm of a mind that creativity isn't something that comes out at special occasions, something that you hoard away behind the locked door of you own room, something quiet and private and entirely personal - I think it's more of a lifestyle. Of course, there is a time and place for quiet, reclusive little imaginings, but even more time to share your talent with the world. I delight in nothing more than to work for, and have my work enjoyed by others - to share with them the same joy that simply creating the work gave me. My name is Emily, and I am a professional 18 year old student currently studding classical 2D animation, though my skills do range beyond this little (though nevertheless lovely) sliver of the creative industry. I am an illustrator and storyteller at heart, and am a competent digital and traditional painter. I adore the challenge of a new character, landscape or style, and am always trying to broaden my horizons. While I have certain drawing habits that I may fall into more easily than others, I am never limited by the fact that something 'may not be my style.' I am a diverse, varied artist and can bend to fit into almost any creative mold. I am also a fluent writer, both formally and informally, creative and column. I can make myself, make you, your product, character or idea sound wonderful, crazy, horrible, decadent or almost anything else you can think of. However, if I was to identify my strongest points - on the basis that I could do this for the rest of my life - it would be animal character design and illustration, as well as character digital paintings. And of course their accompanying story-lines. I am competent when it comes to using Photoshop CS 2 through to 5, as well as ToonBoom Animate Pro v.4 and ToonBom Pencil Check Pro. I am also versed in Flash animation, as well as limited actionscript. I have fundimental (and growing) skills in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
