I have a BSc Hons (1st Class) in Biology, an ONC and HNC in Microbiology, and I also hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. For twenty years, I worked as a biological research scientist at Pfizer, UK. I supervised a team of experimental scientists, working to deadlines, researching and developing new ideas and producing high quality data. I have supervisory, time management and report writing skills, paying close attention to detail in practical and written work. Reports produced were always concise, accurate and well written. These were often for regulatory submission as well as internal circulation. I was often involved in staff recruitment and appraisel, using strong interviewing and communication skills. Four years ago, I retrained as a clinical hypnotherapist. A high degree of autonomy and self-discipline was once again required to complete this, involving researching and writing many assignments alongside the necessary practical content. I practise this on a very part time basis, so am available for other work as necessary. I have a strong grasp of the English Language and have read widely. For example, I am a Governor at my local primary school and liaise closely with the Chair of Governors and the senior leadership team. I often proofread policies and reports before they are approved. I use my own initiative, allowing me to work and problem solve independently. I understand the importance of accuracy in the written word and the necessity for producing work to deadlines, without forfeiting this attention to detail. I am organised and efficient, and believe I have already displayed the necessary skills in my working career. I multi-task well but always concentrate fully on the task in hand.

Chris Cocozza, an award winning romance book cover artist, has illustrated over 500 book covers for major publishers across the United States and around the world. Jack Davis, one of Mad Magazines' creators and famed cartoonists, recognized Chris’s talent and helped to mentor him early in his artistic life. Mr. Davis provided perspective, insight and grounding at a very critical time, and helped Chris to understand the demands and commitments needed to pursue an artist's life. Chris started his academic career by studying in New York City at various institutions of higher education; The School of Visual Arts, The Arts Students League and the National Academy of Design where he honed his skills as a traditional painter and draftsman. Following in the footsteps of some of his most inspirational artists and teachers, Chris set out to traditionally paint the figure for the book cover industry, first breaking in with the western and young adult genres, and expanding to romance, action and mystery genres. In the early 90's, with the advent of digital media, Chris made the transition to the new techniques, technology and tools without sacrificing his mastery of the "traditional techniques". Chris was one of the first romance illustrators to embrace the new technology and continues to be one of its foremost pioneers into the 21st century. His work is studied in many universities across the country. Chris continues to embrace the incredible joy creating great illustrative images bring to him and others.
