Rick Dumont was lucky enough to grow up in New England and creative enough to successfully capture the extraordinary beauty of her landscape. While in the Navy, Rick had the opportunity to travel. Inspired by a different kind of landscape at sea, he purchased his Canon AE-1, which he credits with the start of his photography career. Expanding from land and seascapes to documentary photography, Rick became a photographer for the Foster’s Daily Democrat, where he learned the significance of ‘capturing the critical moment’ to tell a story. He still contributes to the Fosters, most recently with images of the 2011 fire on Ocean Blvd at Hampton Beach and the Tall Ships’ visit to Portsmouth Harbor. As a freelance photographer, Rick is a regular contributor to NHtoDo Magazine, Prescott Park Arts Festival, and events sponsored by the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, where he is a member. Rick’s images were featured in the American Bus Association’s Program cover for their annual meeting as well as their 2012 calendar. He also enjoys participating in various art shows with his renowned New England Coastal Images collection. His work can be found in various venues on the NH Seacoast.
