My work has largely been published in English Language Journals in Asia. They can be pulled by clicking on my name, appending "Writer," or "Photographer." I am a semi-retired senior of 82, still alert and ambulatory, but would prefer to work at home. I would like to post a brief autobiography rather than a resume because of my complicated background. I'd also like to post a photo mosaic of my early photographs. I hope my age does not exclude me from consideration. I only want to supplement my dwindling income. My hourly rate would depend on the complexity, and length of time of the job. I have also done advertising copy for regional agencies, working with account executives, and art directors.

I shot the videos in San Diego and submitted them on a weekly basis, working for Jonathan Lamas, Manager of Programming Warner Bros. Worldwide Television. ? In a reference letter, Jonathan Lamas said: “Matthew maintained constant communication and never failed to meet a deadline, and in spite of these tight deadlines, his segments were always entertaining and professionally produced.” ? The contest’s strict requirements meant I was to not only film the videos, but also be the only actor in them, as well as edit them. This required constant multi-tasking in all aspects of pre-production, production, and post. Jonathan has since told me, “Members of the Smallville cast also watched these segments and thoroughly enjoyed them”, and has invited me for frequent visits to the WB lot. “DROWNING PHOENIX” (Feature Film), San Diego, California, 2003-2007 Wrote, directed, produced, and edited my first feature length film. ? Edited the entire film and due to some inferior audio equipment, had to dub a lot of the dialog. ? Learned to edit on different programs, including Sony Vegas 7 and Final Cut Pro while also coordinating the entire production from pre to post.

I am a quick learner and will be a hard worker at whatever job I’m put at. Whether I’m filing papers, working with the animals, or even just cleaning up after them I will work with the same level of joy and commitment. I have also taken two photography classes at my school and I am adequate in handling a camera. I’ve taken many pictures for my family, including over a hundred candid pictures of my young nephew.

As an outsider artist, my work combines unconventional ideas and vibrant colors for unique visual representations. In my body of illustrations I use a variety of media with a focus on ink and ranges to pencil, etc. Each piece is composed with typically three elements in mind: natural elements (such as clouds, water, trees, etc.), fish or marine life and shapes or food elements. Real life imagery influences my artistic concepts. My compositions take a twist into the abstract with inspirations often coming from Asian culture and street art. Illustrations are brought to life using two dimensional layering and careful attention to line detail. Each piece I create brings a visual snapshot into my peculiar world, playfully dabbling in whimsy, using overlapping techniques to juxtaposition the key elements of my abstractions. As I reach out to the masses, tidbits of me can be seen by the gentle or sometimes outspoken placement of abyssal characters in my artworks (Fishes fascinate me); as well as the caress of Asian art’s influence. “
