its an interesting contrast of peace, depicted by the falling flowers and the serene background versus passion and vengeance depicted by the sword and the red dress which defines passion as well as blood.
I can´t help but to think we are looking at the final moments of this woman, before she kills the one that wronged her and then succumbs to her wounds.
