This is a 3,900-word short fiction story, “True Love Doesn’t Die”. It is a story about how the human mind can be on the path to it’s own internal demise; yet not reveal itself to the outside world. Events such as abuse and loss increase the need to fill a void. A need for love is held on to so tightly, that the situation becomes the reality for one mother, and the person the closest to her, her daughter, doesn’t initially see or realize what is going on. The end result is horrific for the daughter.
