AWWW, I have to say; I love your father too! :D He's the kind of dad every child should have in their lives. Reading your essay was like watching a short film (SURREAL)! I You're such a great writer.

Hi, I love this story because it reminds me so much of my Dad and I too spent time as a girl on the ski slopes with him. Our Dad's had a lot in common!

This reads really well. Could you offer any advice on how to find work like this?

Yes, it does read well. I LOVE her writing. I'm not sure of where else you'd look for work like it; besides "Freelanced." Although, I'm sure there has to be others.I'm just not aware of them.Try contacting Cirrelia Thaxton via her page on this site. She may be able to advise you of where to search. Have a wonderful day!

The greatest heroes are the humble ones. It's symptomatic of good-will. It sounds like this father has a great deal to be proud of. He sounds fearless and selfless, and it sounds like he put his child in a position to be fearless. The best leaders embrace moments of fear and re-channel those brief moments into adrenaline and sharpness of mind. I'm sure this father took a lot out of serving in the military, but sounds like an inherently good man.

Oh yes, Andy, as I proofread and edited the first draft, I also noticed the strong parent=child bond between the two. I agree channeling fear into a strength is important for most leaders. The father's strong presence called to me through his child's words. He said "Be strong and proud...." I love writing personal statements. They allow me to be more creative, unlike technical papers. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I always love hearing your *voice* !

Absolutely a man to admire and I felt oh so small while reading that beautiful and inspirational work Cirrelia!! I lost my father whilst I was young, but I do remember who he was and what he stood for. And I never knew what horror was nor saw it when I was growing up and it is sad to say, that a lot of families today could do with a man like that for laying the foundations by an almost parable like teaching from life that is deeply seeded by live, look and learn. Definiely not the scream and freak scenario that abounds in society today where morals and honesty were thrown out the door and exchanged for lust and greed in a lot of cases. That beautiful story, really touched me deeply and left some beautiful inner visions....Thanks Cirrelia and thrilled that I chose this to read today.....
