Colonel, you are very good at breaking down media and analyzing it! I haven't really watched any series since Seinfeld and lost. I mainly watch the History channel, biography etc...Very good concise information! You are the star!

Most aptly nicknamed First Class Canvas Sensei, thank you. You are the star! If you liked Seinfeld it's very likely yu would love Sunny. Unfortunately they switched it to the network FXX which not many people get, but I would recommend getting the seasons on Netflix or by some other means I bet you would love it.

Well I will just have to watch it then won't I !

I have to say, South Park paved the way for edgy TV shows. It's brilliant Satire - I've been watching it since I was 11. But Sunny is one of the first successful sitcoms to use an edginess close to South Park's level.

It was a little rough when I first saw South park, but definitely appreciate the brazen humor! Oh yea some of your stuff is pretty edgy, raw and you dare to go where other won't can't do! hehe

Haha I feel like that's the way of the world today - very edgy, foul mouthed, BRAZEN (great word!) Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and Rob McElheney really grasp that. I feel like a lot of people grasp it, but at the same time are afraid of crossing the line. But you have to take risks, push the boundaries, and offend a few people if you want to do satire right.

YES! and YOU are the MAN! Now I definitely will watch Sunny, because I follow you! Hahahaha I will look for it Colonel....I would say of all the people I know, you, Em and Morgan (my son) are the most up front with your truth...and have no fear to dispel....for that I respect you all hugely! The TRUTH sayers! You make great mirrors for me you brazen ones!

I like old reruns....Networks, like TVLand, help me remember what good TV is (or shall I say 'was'). Characters were better developed and storylines were meaningful...Today's TV offerings appear shallow and superficial. Andy, thanks for sharing your insights about this topic. Nice job!

Thank you Janet and Cirrelia. Cirrelia, I have not watched a great deal of old TV but I feel like canned laughter held a lot of old sitcoms back (Seinfeld is not that old, but I feel canned laughter hurt Seinfeld). It is like a cue for the audience to laugh. Sunny satirically pointed this out recently and I feel like this is all written in my essay but I have typed it all out and don't want to delete it so I will keep it just in case:)

Hmmm...yeah laugh track makers could be a bit presumptious...I always like the live shows as well. You really could feel the rush of sincere and real laughs from the audience!! Oh and Seinfeld is still one of my all time favs...I wish they would have done more live reel as opposed to tape....The chemistry of the cast is so important in all comedies....
