Thought I wrote a comment for this poem...don't see it... any chance you remember getting it?
Andy Kuhn - Over 30 days ago
No, but thank you for the kudos!

It draws you in with the title, keeps you picturing and guessing with each new line, no fluff, consistent and pleasant flow throughout, intriguing. I think every reader could relate in their own way, from as superficially as feeling connected as when playing soldier in a first person shooter game, to any number of complex, inner emotional struggles: agoraphobia; depression and fighting the macabre allure of ******* as escape, dealing with paranoid schizophrenia, the list is almost endless. Personal struggles yes, but the last line suggests mental illness to me. Were you writing about a generalized experience or from particular personal knowledge or experience? If you don't mind, of course. The poem's double meaning is engrossing.

As an educator, it's very often the gifted kids who do the same. Probably also why you are so good at what you do.

This poem is very moving, yet it has a calming effect, too. The repetition increases the strength of your thesis...I discerned that the war is mindless, but relentless. I really like this one.

Masterful minds become frustrated when held of the image they have of themselves, never good enough, driven to push seems the best way to get things done, idly waiting is torture on their patience.

Janet! You are turning into a poet!

I wish that I could like this a million times.. It's your poem, your words, and yet the emotion that bleeds from each sentence are the tears that I've cried.. What an amazing piece.. It never fails to grip me tight..
