She is very eyecatching and since I can't leave a kudo on the front...Just popped by to say hi and see how you are travelling:)) I would rekudo if I could but have to wait a hopefully you may put up some more of your works hey Robb:)) I have been going through my artgear and found a pile of prisma color pens and other stuff that is gathering dust, so am shaking it out and back to a bit of drawing as well. Years of painting, there is not a lot of pencil work.....and I used to do a lot of b/w and pen and ink.......waaaaaaaaay care...and have a really great day....

prisma colors! I haven't used those in years and years! oh, another one of my staples back in the "hand-drawn era" of my life: Dr. Martin Dyes! they were like really bright, saturated watercolors! (^.^)
and thank you for the visits! I've recently taken a couple of things down and put some new-ish stuff up for one of the freelanced jobs I applied for...still learning the best way to do that! (O.o;)

Just keep putting up more....there is never too much and variety is the spice of life and best wishes for the job ....there is really nothing for me to apply for here....but I love and am inspired by all the wonderful artists and their artworks:))

Love her hair, her innocent expression behind such a warrior's stance and the entire gorgeously ecclectic get-up! I must admit that I am not ordinarily a fan of Animé or Manga, And I need some lessons in order to tell them apart, but you've got my attention with this Warrior Princess! I didn't even see the delicate Dragon at first. Although I'm Surprised seeing as his green against an all neutral monochromatic background is very clever. Your little Dragon reminds me of the leafy sea dragons I love at the Chattanooga aquarium. I have started a junior fiction chapter book about a very unique young Dragon and yours is quite inspirational. Thank you. So is there an entire deck of these? I'm 1968 the year the sheep.

thanks, shawn! (^.^) i've been doing new year cards since 2009, but only started doing asian new year cards back in 2012 --- thus there's only a year of the dragon and year of the snake. btw, i'm a "Rat" (1960). there's a really cool story about why the rat is first of the asian celestial animals --- and why there's no "Year of the Cat". (except for the Al Stewart song!) (^.~) . chattanooga? my grandmother was from there! \(^.^)/

Where can I hear this rat/ not cat story? About your grandmother, that explains why she has such a cool and quirky grandson!

well, it's a long, story... basically, there was a party that the Celestial Emperor was throwing, so he invited the celestial animals. as an added bonus, the order that they arrived would be the order they would be placed in the stars. there was a big river that had to be crossed, so the rat asked the Ox if he could ride on the Ox's head. The Ox said, "sure", but when the Ox came close to shore, the rat lept from the Ox's head and, thus, was first. as for the poor cat: this is from wikipedia:

"Another story tells that God called the animals to a banquet that night. The Rat, who loved to play tricks on his neighbour, told the cat that the banquet was on the day after tomorrow. The Cat believed his neighbour the Rat and slept whilst dreaming of the banquet. The next day, the Rat arrived first followed by the Ox, the Tiger and the rest of the animals. The order of the animals was decided by the order that they arrived. The Cat was devastated and vowed that he would always hate the Rat. This is why cats chase Rats in folklore."

and now you know. and knowing is half the battle! G. I. Joe! \(^.^)/

Man! I love those movies. My husband looks so much like Channing Tatum which makes watching them even more fun for me. I was pretty pissed that they killed Duke off in the first 15 minutes of the latest movie!
I love how folklore explains everyday realities. Now I get where being a rat equals being underhanded as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to share!!
