Tod Edmondson Hollywood FL My 35-year career in all facets of music publishing and printing has enabled me to develop and further enhance a wide array of valuable business skills: music composing, arranging, and engraving; editing; proofreading; advertising copywriting, re-writing, ad design, and direct mail packaging design and project management; marketing strategy and implementation; and artist relations. Working for multi-national recording artists and their management agencies, and being responsible for representing their art with a high level of quality, requires an equal level of creative energy, deadline stamina, and multi-tasking abilities, combined with an intense attention to detail and accuracy. I have been a musician and editor/proofreader my entire career. Currently I am working as a freelance audio and video technician and production assistant for several Florida production companies. I also work under contract to Sheet Music Online editing and revising a catalog of public domain music. I recently worked freelance as a proofing editor for a transcription and video titling service using proprietary software of their own design. CPP/Belwin -Warner Bros. Publications-Alfred Music Publishing, Miami, FL 1992 – 2012 • Arranger/Transcriber of popular and educational sheet music product, taking recorded music “off the record” and putting it in the appropriate formats and in camera-ready digital form for print. Liaison to multi-national recording artists and their management teams to ensure accuracy and approval before publication. I arranged and transcribed hundreds of pages of published sheet music product sold on the market. • Advertising & Marketing Production Coordinator for all company departments, supervising retail promotions, advertisements, packaging, direct mail, and internal communications. I worked in team environments and as an individual with management, editors, artists, typesetters, and related press personnel to represent company product in all facets of advertising, nationally and internationally. In particular, I helped brainstorm and coordinate new processes, designs, and press-ready packaging of book-with-CD products by working with editors and press supervisors to solve logistical and material problems and cut costs. • Assistant Editor for all school music publications and advertising/marketing materials, including magazine advertisements and direct mail promotions. I was responsible for the technical editing & proofreading of hundreds of products per year to ensure frontline quality music engravings for print, and coordinated all materials for yearly promotional recording sessions, and was responsible for the accuracy of all promotional materials and ads. • Technical Editor/Proofreader for all printed music & lyrics in all styles for all departments, from popular sheet music to educational and school market music. I proofread and edited product for all departments according to established company and music industry standards, and incorporated artist and management approval requirements. Business Cards Tomorrow (BCT), Orlando, FL 1989 – 1992 • Quality Control Manager/Proofreader for all wholesale-to-retail daily orders, which required proofreading all type, art, and layout of business cards, announcements, and stationery. I supervised the delegation of any necessary corrections with staff or made corrections myself, such as resetting type and re-doing paste-up for artwork. I helped devise and institute a positive rewards program with management for typesetters and artists to reduce errors and speed workflow. Screen Gems-Columbia Pictures Publications-CPP/Belwin, Miami, FL 1978 – 1992 • Arranger/Transcriber-Editor-Proofreader in a freelance capacity on multiple product lines and varied functions. Arranged sheet music and instrumental music, editor with cover credit of 600+ page comprehensive company branded songbook, proofreader and technical editor of a curriculum/teaching method for school band directors. Education – Graduated in 1988 from Full Sail for the Recording Arts, Orlando FL with a vocational certificate in all aspects of audio and video production, recording, editing, live sound, equipment maintenance, and digital music production. Proficiencies – Industry standard business software (Microsoft Office Suite) and Finale music notation software. Currently training to certify in all Adobe, Avid, and Apple video and audio software.

Here's an article that I wrote on how to use social media to Acquire Paying Customers. This thinking yielded 1500 new systems sales in one years time. Taking charge of your sales destiny to proactively find and acquire paying customers online is what I offer as my service and skill. Understanding social media and how to define and then write for it so the article, release, reach out, sales or marketing piece does get you a "go to" position and reputation plus Acquire Paying Customers is what I do for my clients. ____________________________________________________________________ Sales approaches for Quick starting solid business growth via social media by Neil Licht CEO HereWeAre, Chief adviser, Acquiring Paying Customers Consultancy Group ____________________________________________________________________ While we all want to grow our businesses as painlessly as possible, there is some important homework to be done first in order to see the paths and avenues to take when trying to gain traction for, and sell product or service so sales can happen. Its about understanding your target audiences, what they worry about, and how to "get into their heads" so to speak so you think like they think and can position what you are saying so they will buy what you are selling Look at these key issues in strategic positioning, messaging, understanding your target audiences and actual selling approaches that need to be addressed to get YOU sales: • Where is my target audience? Who are they? Where do they “hang out” on line • What do they care about? • How do they source? • Where do they go for industry updates and information and how do you get featured "there"? • How do I think from the point of view of my target audiences so I can relate and connect? • What do I specifically "say" that can instantly capture the targeted audiences, prospects so they want to talk • How do I differentiate myself from the pack so i get called? • How does my target audience evaluate issues and solutions? • How can I define my key audiences and position to be of service to each audience so they want what I offer? • How do I become a featured speaker at events and establish my position as a go to expert? That reveals where target audiences are, where their "influencers" are and where you should be active via articles, social media, blogs, email, newsletters to create a "go to" national presence and reputation. Next, using what you found, apply 2 key sales axioms as the road map for tapping into what you learned, using/leveraging each identified path and for messaging accordingly in each avenue you found that can create calls, buyers, get attention and position you as the go to source: * Axiom #1: People do things for their reasons, not yours. * Axiom #2: Imagine the prospect has a sign on his forehead that says “so what?” These two principles guide the selling process, whether in letters, emails, your web page, blog or in person. If you remember these two axioms, your sales reach outs and what you say in them will come out as grabbers and connectors with issues and concerns that prospects interested buyers have, not as product pitches and then link/position what you "offer" as a way to solve those issues. Understanding this thinking in target markets and constructing your reach outs based on the 2 sales axioms can get you the desired national presence and reach that you want plus the all important interested "real" prospect that you want. I work in the media jungle of Toronto, having carved out for myself a niche in reporting, editing, and training in the radio industry. I am currently stuck in a studio as a traffic reporter, but its better in here than out on the roads. I have been involved in the voice-over industry for the past 14 years, focusing soft and medium sell commercials (I really don't like shouting at people). I have numerous TV commercials in Canada and the US, having been trained by the best at Sears & Switzer Acting School and The Second City. I'm worth a second look!
